Are you ready to take the next step in your career? We recently asked hiring managers on our client services team for advice on how to stand out during their client services interview. Read on to hear what they had to say.
Do your research
Doing your own research is key. It is important to understand Gartner as a brand, our value proposition, and what we offer our clients. You can learn more about what we do and the impact we make here.
Make connections
Don’t be afraid to connect with associates from Gartner on LinkedIn. It is always impressive to see candidates taking the initiative to proactively learn about the role they are interviewing for. Plus, it’s a great opportunity for you to learn more about our culture and what’s so special about it.
Use the STAR method
While thinking through examples of past behavior, use the STAR method to talk through the situation, the task you had to resolve, the action(s) you took, and the result of the task. This technique is the best way to structure your answers for the interviewer and is a good storytelling exercise.
Prep for role play
Part of our interview will typically involve role playing so we can get an understanding of how you would interact with clients. To help you prepare for this type of interview, you can try searching for sample/tutorial videos online.. A top tip is creating structure for the conversation.
Be yourself
Be transparent and honest, show us your true self and not what you think we are looking for.We are interested in your mindset and capabilities.
