Inclusion

Gartner Associates Recognize National Disability Employment Awareness Month

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. To honor the month, we are recognizing our progress toward creating a more inclusive workplace, and hosting a variety of events.

At Gartner, we are committed to creating an inclusive and respectful environment where all associates can thrive. Recently, this commitment helped us to be recognized as a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion by the Disability Equity Index for our efforts in creating an inclusive, accessible workplace.

Gartner’s Collective Abilities Network (CAN) is an employee resource group (ERG) dedicated to uniting those with hidden and apparent disabilities, mental health challenges, neurodiversity, chronic or acute illness, and their caregivers and allies. This associate-led group is open to all associates. With events like fireside discussions, CAN (like all our ERGs) enables associates by supporting their development, driving engagement by cultivating a sense of belonging, celebrating their success and modeling what good looks like for others, and identifying benefits and programs that support associate success. Learn more about CAN in the video below.

Andrew Spender, SVP, Global Corporate Communications, shared more around our progress and how we’re recognizing Disability Employment Awareness Month:

"Gartner is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that encourages open discussions and ensures all people are treated fairly and with respect. This October, during Disability Employment Awareness Month, we reaffirm our dedication to ensuring disability inclusion is not just a statement — but an actionable priority.

At Gartner, our leaders ensure that every team is empowered to cultivate an environment where all associates can thrive. Throughout our partnership with Disability IN and the efforts of our Collective Abilities Network Employee Resource Group, we are proud to contribute to a workplace culture that truly embraces the unique contributions and perspectives of all our associates."

In alignment with National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we will be hosting an event in collaboration with CAN’s Cancer Support Group. Our speaker, Dr. Patricia Toro, Senior Director in Health, Equity, and Wellbeing at WTW, will lead a discussion to provide education and awareness on the top common cancers that impact women and men, as well as important information on common symptoms and testing.
