Our Interns Give the Inside Scoop About a Day in the Life at Gartner

Are you interested in an internship at Gartner and wondering what a typical day might look like? We asked some of our interns to give us the inside scoop. Read on to hear what they had to say.

“A typical day starts with reviewing my calendar and priorities before meeting with my aligned Account Executive mentor to discuss projects and team goals. Throughout the day, I work on developing my sales skills through activities such as prospecting, shadowing client calls, and supporting team initiatives, while also attending team meetings and training sessions. I usually end the day by organizing my tasks and planning for the next day.” - Mackinley Cole, Sales Intern

“A typical day as an intern is centered around making progress toward my performance metrics while also collaborating with my team to identify where I can add value. Balancing individual goals with team meetings and one-on-one feedback sessions allows me to continuously learn, develop new skills, and contribute in meaningful ways. Each day is different in the ways that present opportunities for growth, both professionally and personally!” - Molly Sullivan, Sales Intern

“A typical day in my life looks like: eating breakfast with the other interns, attending any intern sessions we have that day, shadowing calls for my team, sitting in on team meetings, having lunch with the interns, doing outreach, drafting emails for my team, and taking the shuttle home!” - Ella Yorn, Sales Intern

“A typical day in my life revolves around getting into the office and starting my day with a coffee and a bagel. From there I go and sit with my team and go over the task we have at hand and how I can best help towards achieving these goals. From working with my fellow interns and my team, the collaboration is extremely beneficial when it comes to handling these goals. Consistently working on sales skills while learning from the best in the business, there isn't a moment during my day that I am not learning or observing something beneficial for my professional career.” - Will Rogalski, Sales Intern

“A typical day starts with arriving at the office, grabbing breakfast and coffee, and connecting with my mentor and team. We spend time catching up, discussing priorities, and finding ways to support one another throughout the week. My days are often filled with shadowing calls, learning more about Gartner’s business and culture, collaborating with fellow interns, and contributing to my team wherever I can. One of my favorite parts of the internship is how every day provides an opportunity to learn something new while building relationships with people across the organization. And of course, I always look forward to lunch and the afternoon cookie!” - Mary O’Boyle, Sales Intern

“A typical day at Gartner is dynamic, which is one of the things I enjoy most about the role. Depending on the priorities for the week, I partner closely with my Account Executive, shadowing client interactions and supporting efforts to strengthen and grow relationships within our accounts. Throughout the day, I'm learning how to navigate different stages of the sales cycle, from account development to client retention. I'm also focused on completing key metrics and activities that help me better understand the strategy, decision-making process, and best practices behind successful sales execution. Each day provides new opportunities to learn, contribute, and develop my skills in a client-focused environment.” - Caley Stein, Sales Intern
