Starting a new chapter in your career can be both exciting and daunting, especially when you’re aiming for growth and impact. For Camilla C., a Sales Manager, joining Gartner was a decision driven by the company’s reputation for nurturing talent and fostering professional development. As she reflects on her journey, Camilla shares insights and advice for others considering a similar path.
Camilla chose Gartner because she was looking for more than just a job; she wanted an environment where she could learn, grow, and make a difference. “I chose Gartner because of the exceptional career opportunities it offers,” she explains. “The company is renowned for its commitment to professional development and growth and providing a dynamic and supportive environment where employees can thrive. Gartner’s emphasis on continuous learning and advancement was a major factor in my decision to join the team.”
Her time at Gartner has been marked by meaningful experiences, but one stands out above the rest. Camilla’s proudest moment has been mentoring new hires and interns, watching them develop and succeed in their roles. “There’s nothing more rewarding than watching someone you’ve guided grow and excel in their role,” she shares. “It’s incredibly fulfilling to know that my support and advice have made a positive impact on their careers and contributed to their success.”
Camilla’s commitment to growth and mentorship also extended beyond her day-to-day role when she participated in the CEMS DACH Forum in Vienna. As a CEMS alumna, she co-hosted a Skills Seminar with Gartner colleagues, engaging with students from across the region. The session focused on practical career insights, and Camilla’s contributions were especially impactful thanks to her ability to connect with participants through shared experiences. “It was incredibly energizing to return to the CEMS community and give back,” she reflects. “Helping students navigate their early career decisions reminded me of how powerful mentorship and shared learning can be.”
When asked what advice she would give to CEMS candidates considering a career at Gartner, Camilla encourages them to be proactive and open to learning. “My advice would be to embrace the learning opportunities and be proactive in seeking out mentorship and guidance,” she says. “Gartner values collaboration and continuous improvement, so demonstrating a willingness to learn and grow will serve you well.” She also highlights the importance of leveraging the unique strengths that come from a CEMS background. “Additionally, leverage the global network and experiences from your CEMS background to bring fresh perspectives and insights to the table.”
Camilla’s journey at Gartner is a testament to the power of mentorship, continuous learning, and embracing new challenges. Her story shows that with the right mindset and support, it’s possible to thrive in a dynamic environment and help others do the same. For anyone considering Gartner, especially CEMS graduates, Camilla’s advice is clear: be open to growth, seek out guidance, and use your unique experiences to make a lasting impact.
