Gartner associates have a long history of volunteering and giving back to communities. Through Gartner Gives, our associates have the opportunity to give back to the causes that mean the most to them with the added support from Gartner. Initiatives related to education have consistently been the single largest area of associate philanthropy and donations. In 2021, Gartner associates supported 737 educational charities through volunteerism and giving.
Our associates across the globe have found ways to transform the lives of future leaders - children in communities where we live and work - through direct mentorship, and by encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation. Read on to learn more about some of these initiatives.
United Negro College Fund (UNCF)
UNCF has a vision for a nation where all Americans have equal access to college education that prepares them for rich intellectual lives, competitive and fulfilling careers, engaged citizenship and service to our nation. Our associates attended a discussion hosted by a representative from UNCF where they discovered ways to join UNCF’s mission.
Homeless Entrepreneur
Homeless Entrepreneur is a Barcelona-based non-governmental organization (NGO) that promotes economic empowerment and poverty reduction via work and active citizenship in Barcelona. The organization helps give motivated individuals the network, resources, tools, and support they need to help improve their situation.
AusCam Freedom Project
AusCam Freedom Project is an Australian NGO fighting human trafficking in Cambodia by protecting girls at high risk—specifically in the urban areas of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Our associates learned what they can do to hep protect girls at risk and discovered how the organization ensures that the girls stay in school to help build their confidence and to create a protective environment.
Spark Chicago
Spark Chicago is dedicated to forging the gap between what middle schoolers are learning in the classroom and what they dream to accomplish later in life. In addition to financial sponsorship, our colleagues participate in virtual mentoring. This helps strengthen the students' social capital, problem-solving, collaboration, and personal development skills through hands-on experiential learning.
GROW Mentoring
GROW Mentoring is a UK-based NGO with a novel mentoring platform for students from underrepresented communities worldwide—including North American, Europe and the Middle East. It aims to advance mobility, diversity and inclusion in the legal profession around the globe.
Mentorship can be an extremely impactful way to help with the advancement of education for our youth. Yosr Hamza, Director of Legal Counsel shares, "I strongly believe in mentorship and its impact. Life is too short for us not to share the best of our knowledge and experiences. It takes one person to make a difference” Through mentorship, we are able to leverage our knowledge and experience to uplift local communities and make a difference in the lives of others.
