By fostering inclusion and a sense of belonging, we become stronger and better as a company. As we bring individuals from different backgrounds and experiences together, we collectively can grow, innovate, and uplift the communities we serve.
September 15 marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month in the United States. At Gartner, we use this month as an opportunity to recognize and celebrate our Hispanic and Latin associates from around the world. This year, we are thrilled to announce the launch of Unidos at Gartner, an associate-led group dedicated to building cultural awareness, celebrating, engaging and empowering professional growth for Hispanic and Latin associates and their allies around the world.
To celebrate the month, we’ll be hosting multiple events for associates to get involved. We will kick off with a virtual celebration to recognize Unidos at Gartner’s official launch as an Employee Resource Group. This event will provide an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn about the milestones of the group. Following this, one of our senior leaders will host a discussion around themes such as community, heritage, and leadership styles. Additionally, associates are invited to join a panel discussion to learn about some of their colleagues’ career journeys, including the challenges and accomplishments they have encountered along the way. Finally, a business coach will lead a one-hour virtual session titled "Where I Am, I Belong," where she will share her success story, the challenges faced as a Latina, and how she overcame barriers throughout her career. These events are meant to foster a sense of community, celebrate our diverse heritage, and inspire personal and professional growth among associates.
We asked some of our associates to share more about the importance of Hispanic and Latin Recognition Month. Here’s what they had to say:
“Hispanic and Latin Recognition Month is a time to highlight and celebrate the unique aspects of our heritage that define who we are. It’s an opportunity to share with friends and the world the rich culture, traditions, and contributions we bring to society.” — Jesaias O., Client Success Manager
“Hispanic and Latin Recognition Month is an opportunity to celebrate our heritage, honor our history, and take pride in the progress of our community. It’s a time to come together, reflect on our roots, and learn from each other. For me, it’s about embracing our identity and celebrating the strength and unity within our community.” — Jenn M., Manager, Lead Qualification
“Unidos at Gartner has helped me foster a culture of respect and understanding by providing a space for different employees to share their perspectives and experiences in their personal Hispanic/Latino homes and families.” — Nora P., Research Engagement Services Specialist
Activities like these, during Hispanic and Latin Recognition Month and throughout the year, serve as a way for our associates to continue to learn from one another and work together to break down barriers.
