Our Interns Share their Top Tips for Success

Gartner’s internship program offers world-class training, professional development and unlimited growth potential through hands-on experience. Our interns have learned a lot about what this means and what it takes to be successful at Gartner, so we asked them to share their advice to help prepare future interns. Check out what they had to say below.

"My biggest piece of advice for future interns is to not be afraid to ask questions and to approach every experience with curiosity. There is so much to learn at Gartner, not just from the work itself, but from the talented and supportive people around you. Remaining constantly curious and open to learning is key to growth and will lead to an enriching internship experience!" - Abby S., Research Intern, North America

"Be curious and take the initiative. The more you ask, the more you'll learn. Don't be afraid to speak up and connect with people across the business. People will notice your effort, so show up eager, open, and ready to grow." - Emma H., Conference Attendee Sales Intern, North America

"The advice that I would give future Gartner interns would be to not be afraid to ask questions. The culture at Gartner is truly amazing, everyone wants to help and all you have to do is ask." - Jake H., Sales Intern, North America

"Interns at Gartner are not treated like bystanders. They are treated like full-time employees. If you show interest, people will invest in you. Also, lean into the culture of learning. Set up 1:1s across teams, join optional calls, and take the time to understand how the research process actually works. Finally, stay curious and speak up. You don't need to have all the answers, but having a point of view shows you're thinking critically and willing to learn." - Dan P., Research Intern, North America

"Be confident, you’re here for a reason. Trust your abilities and don’t be afraid to speak up or ask questions. There’s so much to learn, so be a sponge in every aspect of your life. Growth only happens when you’re experiencing something unfamiliar, so lean into challenges and take them head on." Raegan H., Sales Intern, North America
