Gartner's Business Development team is the destination for professionals who want to become the best and understand that relentless effort and learning separates good from great. My advice for anyone considering business development at Gartner is:
- Be honest with what you want out of your career, and as importantly, what are you willing to put in? If you are looking for an environment that puts your development at the forefront of every discussion and holds you accountable to your goals, this is where you need to be.
- Be curious. This role and organization is built upon asking questions and seeking answers. Be curious about your role, industry, prospective clients, and growth. All your success will start from a place of curiosity.
- Be bold. Raise your hand for opportunities, seek out peers and leaders who execute at your desired level, offer ideas, and try new things.
- Be resilient. You will go through adversity almost daily in some way or another. However, the Business Developers that stay unwaveringly motivated through it all end up on top every single year.
