Empowering Communities, Inspiring Change: Gartner India’s Earth Day Initiatives

This Earth Day, Gartner associates across our India offices came together to celebrate our commitment to sustainability and community impact. Through a series of thoughtfully planned visits and activities, our teams engaged with local organizations to create awareness, inspire action, and spread the message of environmental stewardship.

Our Gurgaon associates visited Ecogram, a waste management initiative by Saahas, to deepen their understanding of responsible waste segregation and processing. Volunteers were given a detailed walkthrough of the facility, witnessing the entire journey of waste — from sorting and segregation to its transformation into energy. Impressively, this energy now powers the entire Ecogram facility, showcasing a real-world example of circular sustainability. The visit provided valuable insights into the science and impact behind everyday waste management.

In Mumbai, our volunteers celebrated Earth Day at Snehasadan – A Home for the Homeless with a day of interactive learning and community bonding. Highlights included an engaging street play, a session on energy conservation, and hands-on participation in the kitchen gardening project supported by Gartner. Children shared their experiences with growing their own food through the nutrition garden, and fun activities like quizzes and games helped reinforce environmental awareness in a joyful, memorable way.

At our Chennai office, we hosted the children from Little Drops for a special Earth Day event. The afternoon began with an introduction from the Little Drops team, highlighting their ongoing partnership with Gartner. A talk on sustainable living sparked important reflections, followed by a screening of an environment-themed movie that made learning fun and engaging. The event aimed to instill eco-consciousness among the young participants through interactive storytelling and shared experiences.

In Bangalore, associates visited Diya Ghar, a non-profit supporting children from low-income families. The visit focused on planting the seeds of environmental awareness through storytelling, fun games, and hands-on activities like sapling planting and upcycling workshops. It was a day of learning and joy, reinforcing that even small actions can lead to big changes when it comes to protecting our planet.

These events across our India offices are a testament to Gartner’s collective commitment to sustainability and giving back.
