There’s truly no mountain high enough to keep the UK’s Kaizen team from supporting conservation efforts. Dedicated to enriching Consulting associates’ experiences at work, the Kaizen team spearheads initiatives to unite associates, promote inclusion and give back to the community.
As part of the team’s efforts to make a difference, Senior Consultant Lucy Jones organized a hiking challenge in support of Rewilding Britain, a conservation organization dedicated to helping restore ecosystems and reconnecting people with the natural world to help communities thrive.
More than 15 associates participated, training for months in advance to hike nearly 23 miles through the challenging weather conditions and terrain of Keswick, England — including an elevation gain of over 8,200 feet. To put it in perspective, the tallest mountain in the United Kingdom measures just over 4,400 feet!
Together, participants raised $3,500 for Rewilding Britain. In addition to championing a worthy cause, associates also enjoyed the opportunity to connect with one another outside of the office over their shared passion for nature. “The camaraderie you take from the challenge is very rewarding,” said Lucy. “Participants enjoyed a great sense of teamwork and getting to know their colleagues better in a non-work environment.”
The Kaizen team’s outstanding efforts to make an impact within Gartner and out in the community exemplify our values in action.
