We are seeking a Senior Director Analyst to join Gartner's Procurement Technology research team. This role is ideal for an experienced procurement technology expert with deep knowledge of Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), Source-to-Pay (S2P) technologies, and the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence in procurement.

As a Gartner analyst, you will shape the market's understanding of procurement technology, advise senior executives on critical decisions, and drive thought leadership that influences organizations worldwide.

What You'll Do

• Lead Industry Research
• Develop and deliver compelling, evidence-based research for procurement and technology leaders.
• Establish Gartner's point of view on the evolution of:
• Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) technology
• Source-to-Pay (S2P) technology
• Procurement orchestration technology
• AI-enabled procurement
• Contract intelligence and supplier intelligence
• Identify emerging trends, market disruptions, and innovative technologies impacting procurement organizations.

Advise Senior Executives

• Serve as a trusted advisor to Chief Procurement Officers, Heads of Procurement Technology, Digital Transformation Leaders and CIOs.
• Conduct high-value client inquiries and strategic advisory discussions.
• Help clients:
• Develop digital transformation vision & strategy for procurement
• Prioritize and sequence procurement tech investments including AI
• Evaluate, select, and navigate complex vendor decisions
• Follow best practices for technology implementation and adoption
• Deploy effective change management for procurement technology
• Understand the evolution and future of the procurement technology landscape

Deliver World-Class Thought Leadership

• Publish innovative research that addresses clients' most pressing challenges.
• Contribute to Gartner's market-leading methodologies, frameworks, and assessment models.
• Present at Gartner conferences and executive events globally.
• Facilitate executive roundtables, webinars, and peer discussions.

Assess the Procurement Technology Market

• Engage with leading technology providers, startups, investors, and industry practitioners.
• Evaluate emerging and established vendors across the procurement technology ecosystem.
• Contribute to Gartner market research including, but not limited to:
• Market Overviews
• Magic Quadrants
• Market Quadrants
• Hype Cycles

Shape the Future of AI in Procurement

• Lead research into the capabilities of various types of AI in procurement (i.e. generative AI, agentic AI)
• Help clients separate AI hype from practical business outcomes
• Lead research into the impact of AI on procurement over time
• Establish best practices for governance, adoption, risk management, and value realization.

What You'll Need

Required Experience

• Significant experience within procurement technology (source-to-pay), sourcing technology, and CLM technology.
• Deep expertise in Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), including vendor landscape of standalone CLM providers.
• Deep understanding of Source-to-Pay (S2P) suites and procurement technology ecosystems, including vendor landscape.
• Experience advising executives, leading transformation initiatives, and assessing procurement technology vendors.
• Demonstrated expertise in Artificial Intelligence applications within procurement, sourcing, contracting, or supplier management.
• Exceptional written, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insight.
• Strong executive presence and credibility with senior business leaders.
