What You Will do   

  • Design, build, and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable software applications, including both front-end and back-end components. 

  • Architect high-performance, optimized software and data solutions by participating in requirements reviews, system design, and technical implementation. 

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based, scalable, and resilient data pipelines and applications to support analytics, reporting, AI, and machine learning initiatives. 

  • Leverage AWS services (such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, Redshift, and others) to build, deploy, and manage applications and data solutions in a cloud environment. 

  • Evaluate the technical feasibility of proposed solutions, define implementation plans, identify risks, dependencies, and potential blockers, and propose mitigation strategies. 

  • Apply software engineering best practices throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including code reviews, version control, automated testing, and continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD). 

  • Collaborate with Data Science and Quality Assurance teams to design and implement automated testing frameworks, ensuring software quality, data integrity, and performance. 

  • Drive operational excellence by improving monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability of applications, services, and data pipelines. 

  • Promote the integration of new technologies including AI, ML, and cloud-native tools and continuously evaluate tools and frameworks that enhance the organization’s software and data engineering capabilities. 

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and develop reusable components, shared frameworks, and standards that improve engineering productivity and consistency. 

  • Provide regular project status updates to engineering leadership and stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and dependencies. 

  • Contribute to documentation of architectures, applications, operational runbooks, and best practices to ensure long-term maintainability and knowledge sharing. 

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field. 

  • At least four (4) years of professional experience in software engineering or a related field. 

  • Proficiency in React, Node.js, Python, and SQL. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. 

  • Experience with unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to software engineering best practices. 

  • Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments. 

Nice to Have 

  • Experience with AWS services such as EMR, Glue, and Step Functions. 

  • Familiarity with cloud-based data engineering solutions and big data processing. 

  • Exposure to AI/ML workflows or supporting data science teams.
