About the Role:

Gartner is looking for a motivated senior leader to join the Gartner Digital Product Technology team. The team is responsible for developing bespoke and innovative products for end-users offering unique global insights into markets, vendors and enterprise products. As a hands-on technical leader, this role directs a multi-disciplinary development team to help fulfil our Digital Experience strategy.

What you’ll do:

  • Scope, plan and lead large integration projects across multiple stakeholders and teams, working closely with product partners and technical leaders to ensure business objectives are met, within budget and with optimal use of resources. 

  • Lead high performing cross-functional Agile Engineering teams in building innovative software products.

  • Be a motivational manager of managers to ensure your teams are enabled to perform at their best, in a culture of innovation and learning, driving as AI-forward development environment.

  • Work closely with Gartner-wide teams including application developers, product operations, cybersecurity, and enterprise architects – to translate complex requirements into scalable solutions.

  • Establish and implement best practices for your teams in line with automation, operational standards, and cloud deployment strategies

  • Research and drive AI-SDLC innovations and continuous improvement techniques in the era of AI.

  • Drive problem solving discussions to ensure solutions address the right challenges and always meet the top level business objectives.

  • Guide and ensure successful deployment, security, and high-availability strategies for a suite of products in the cloud.

  • Collaborate closely with other areas of Gartner IT to leverage best practices and shared capabilities, such as our AWS cloud infrastructure and SaaS solutions. 

  • Drive innovation in product backlogs and team designs to ensure out-the-box thinking and no-limits mindset in solutions. 

  • Direct technical activities across estimation, planning, design, build, testing, and deployment.

  • Mentor and coach managers and developers, providing feedback and identifying growth opportunities.

What you will need:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field required, with 12-17 years’ experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and large software delivery programs of work.

Must have:

  • Exceptional people management skills with an emphasis on mentoring.

  • Solid experience running Agile teams, scrum in particular, and a firm grasp of the Agile principles and practices. 

  • Strong technical background in Java, data layers, NoSQL, JavaScript frameworks, and AWS services.

  • Experience with AI engineering enablement and SDLC strategies. Experience leading and partnering with product managers on AI-enabled solutions and designs.

  • Proven expertise in designing scalable, secure, and reliable enterprise-grade applications.

  • Deep understanding of microservices, cloud-native patterns (AWS/Azure/GCP), and API security.

  • Hands-on experience or strategic oversight using dynatrace for application monitoring, and performance profiling.

  • Understanding of system security, project risk assessment, data integrity and secure system integrations.
