Gartner Separate Consent Letter for Recruitment and Talent Networking

You are seeing this Letter because you are interested in: (1) applying for a job with Gartner; (2) registering with Gartner’s talent network; or communicating with Gartner via email (“Transfer Activities”). Please read this Letter carefully and ensure that you understand this Letter. If you don’t agree to transfer of your personal data outside the Chinese mainland for purposes of the Transfer Activities, please leave the website and do not proceed to enter your personal information.

In this Letter, references to "we," "us," or "Gartner" are references to Gartner Inc. and all its group companies doing business under the Gartner name except it is referenced/defined otherwise.

Your personal information (which may include your sensitive personal information) as listed below (“Personal Information”) will be collected, transferred outside of the Chinese mainland and processed by Gartner group companies and other entrusted legitimate processing parties for the Transfer and Processing Purposes as described below. We are asking for your separate consent for such processing activities under China’s Personal Information Protection Law (“PIPL”).

 

You have the right to withhold your separate consent. However, without your separate consent, we cannot transfer and process your Personal Information abroad. As a result, you will NOT be able to complete your job application with Gartner or receive notification of career opportunities and business news from Gartner. Additionally, if you do not consent to have your information transferred outside the Chinese mainland, please do NOT send Gartner any emails containing your Personal Information.

We will take necessary measures to ensure that the transfer and processing of your Personal Information by the overseas recipient will meet the equivalent level of protection as described under PIPL.

  1. How will your Personal Information be Processed

Your Personal Information will be collected, outbound transferred to, utilized, shared with and processed by Gartner Inc. in the USA and/or other Gartner group of companies under the SCC between Gartner China and Gartner Inc. / other Gartner companies.  Your Personal Information may be stored in Gartner’s candidate databases, applicant database, and/or email system.  Gartner also entrusts certain overseas legitimate third-party vendors (including software and cloud service vendors) in terms of data processing and storage. Processing activities by these vendors are under the control and supervision of Gartner Inc.

 

For the Transfer and Processing Purposes, you may also be contacted by Gartner/Gartner’ s employees via internet, mobile/telephone, and Gartner’s corporate email which system is hosted outside of the Chinese mainland.

 

You have the right to opt out from being contacted by us if you follow the way to exercise such right as described below.

 

Relevant Gartner employees may assess your personal profile, consider your background for current and future career opportunities and evaluate your caliber. They will track your application status during the recruitment life cycle if you have successfully applied for a job with Gartner.

 

If your background could be a match for a job opening now or in the future, you would be contacted / interviewed / updated of your candidacy, by relevant Gartner employees, via internet/mobile/telephone/email. And you may be recommended to suitable business units across Gartner group of companies after a Gartner recruiter has spoken with you about it. We will maintain our internal records of your job application.

 

We appreciate you understand that cross-border supports, globally integrated email system and hardware/software/cloud storage outside of the Chinese mainland, in terms of the operation of Gartner’s communication, talent networking and job application, are necessary for Gartner, a globally operating multinational company.

  • Your name, gender, email address, phone number, job title, company/employer, current location/address, areas of interest, relocation preference, whether you are a former Garner employee, your visa/sponsorship need;
  • Your work experience, education background, qualification, salary level and any other personal information (including sensitive personal information) that you voluntarily choose to share with Gartner via your prepared and submitted resume;
  • Any additional personal information (including sensitive personal information) that you elect to share with Gartner during your interview/background check/communication/contact with Gartner (including the interview notes)

When doing so, please provide your full name, email/contact number and identity credential for our verification, and your specific request.  We may get back to you with additional information request as necessary for our fulfilment of your request.
