About the Role: 

The Territory Planning & Analytics (“TP&A”) team is at the center of Gartner’s mission-critical priorities. We partner with corporate and senior Sales leaders to ensure the best return on the company’s substantial investment in incremental salespeople globally. The team serves as the internal consulting team for sales force growth strategy, go-to-market strategy, market opportunity assessment, and the design of sales territories.

We are searching for top talent who will help solve the sales territory optimization and investment challenges. The role applies analytics and financial modeling to large volumes of data to derive actionable insights.  You will work alongside our design and data science teams to solve high-priority initiatives to inform investment decisions, go-to-market strategy, and improve seller experience. This role will be instrumental in managing our global selling capacity, helping to drive the growth strategy for our sales organizations.

What you will do: 

  • Own the inputs that drive our global selling capacity model and framework, working closely with sales and senior leaders within TP&A to prioritize and drive the right level of territory growth

  • Produce and consult on materials developed for the operating committee

  • Create advanced analytical metrics identifying market opportunities, risks, and early indicators of performance trends to facilitate decision-making for allocation of salespeople, clients, and prospect accounts

  • Develop new models and methodologies to improve our investment approach, supporting the development of our sales growth strategy to achieve corporate growth objectives

  • Apply financial cash flow modeling and business analytics to develop forward-looking projections of potential business decisions and the resulting impact

  • Proactively collaborating with internal partners across Territory Design, HR/Talent Acquisition, and Finance, among other partners, to facilitate the implementation of project outcomes, streamline processes, and improve communication

  • Develop expertise in selling capacity, the value of support teams and ensure investment decisions are based on positive return

What you will need: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Major in finance, accounting, business management or similar fields preferred), Master’s degree preferred

  • 7+ years of experience, ideally focusing on Corporate Strategy, Analytics, Finance or Consulting.

  • Exceptional analytical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, databases, and relational databases; strong knowledge of statistics and statistical tools

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills that enable you to clearly articulate key messages in executive presentations

  • Demonstrated ability to form relationships with and influence senior leaders

  • Require the business acumen to understand the core business challenge, while breaking apart the problem into manageable and easily understood components, while developing a structured plan to reach stated objectives

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 105,600 USD - 144,900 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates.
