About the role: 

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer (Observability) to perform strategic operation of our Observability Monitoring Tools, advance our capabilities, reduce MTTR, and increase our ability to deliver value and enable data driven decisions at business velocity. We are responsible for ensuring that our platform is stable and healthy. We help create and enforce standards while facilitating an agile culture. Overall, we’re passionate about automation, learning and participating in dynamic day to day work.

What you will do:

  • Setup, deploy and manage applications as code on AWS and Azure. 

  • Create and manage highly resilient environments.

  • Automate deployments (CI/CD) & other repetitive tasks using shell/PowerShell/Python scripts or tools like Jenkins. 

  • Configure and leverage configuration management using tools like SSM or Puppet. 

  • Configure automated alerts/monitors and act on any outages/incidents.

  • Ensure that the infrastructure is secured.

  • Develop, document and/or refine processes to standardize and automate wherever possible.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand systems, integrate with them, and develop SOPs for supporting them.

  • Understand client requirements, propose solutions, and ensure delivery.

  • Innovate and actively look for improvements in overall infrastructure.

  • Participate in an Agile environment.

What you will need: 

  • 3-5 years of experience in System Administration and at least 2+ years experience in AWS. 

  • Experience working with various AWS services like: EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, EKS, Lambda etc.

  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes and Docker. 

  • Experience in boto3 usage and concepts. 

  • Understanding of Rest APIs and HTTP Methods.

  • Understanding of APM tools like Datadog, NewRelic, Dynatrace and Log Analytics Tools Like Splunk.

  • Well-versed with shell scripting and Languages like Python or Nodejs.

  • Good Exposure in IAAC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation and CI/CD Tools like Jenkins.

  • Knowledge of Linux and Unix like Systems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Self-starter and ability to deliver under tight timelines.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical field (preferred)

Good to have: 

  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, or similar tools.

  • Prior experience in handling client communications.

  • Basic Knowledge of databases.

  • Windows Server Administration and PowerShell Experience.

  • A fundamental understanding of ITIL Service Management processes such as: Problem, Incident, change, and request Management.

  • Understanding of Azure Components Like: EventHub, AppServices, Storage Accounts etc.
