Role Purpose
The Manager, Supplier Relationships role is essential to the successful delivery of Gartner’s conference services sourcing strategy. This role involves collaborating with conference team leaders to determine operational requirements, securing optimal contract scope and pricing, and building strong relationships with supplier partners to maximize conference success.
Primary Responsibilities:

Partner internally with logistics, exhibitor operations, housing, and registration stakeholders (including executive leaders) to understand business needs. Based on these needs, assist stakeholders in defining complex scope requirements to source suitable suppliers with the scale and expertise to support our conferences strategy.

Provide key insights and analysis to aid in the management and selection of the best suppliers for our conferences.

In alignment with Gartner’s contract processes and policies, negotiate supplier pricing and business terms that minimize the risk to the company and deliver increased value.

Manage and influence supplier contract management processes to ensure timely execution of contract reviews and approvals.

Develop strong relationships with contacts to ensure quality standard at conferences is maintained, company expectations are met, and lines of communication are open.

Monitor partnership, performance metrics, and service delivery satisfaction including the facilitation of business reviews for select suppliers i.e., Quarterly Business Reviews and Monthly Operations Reviews.

Partner with Procurement to lead a global conference services supplier consolidation initiative to aid in streamlining suppliers to better leverage Gartner spend (time and purchases).

Strive for continuous improvement through ongoing contract and supplier management; collaborate with onsite planners to capture supplier performance feedback and follow up to ensure practices are adjusted accordingly where necessary.

Project manage including ownership and adherence of timelines and templates, and accurately track and evaluate results on overall project goals.

10-15% travel to conferences required per year.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree
Professional Experience Required:
-
5-6 years event management experience incl. end-to-end event management
-
Extensive conferences onsite experience
-
$1 million dollar+ contract negotiation and management experience
-
Knowledge of the overall procurement life cycle
-
Broad supplier relationship management experience across a large-scale organization

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 68,400 USD - 107,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
