About the role

Senior Cloud DBA/Database Engineer will provide technical expertise in designing, managing, and administering Databases in Cloud (AWS & Azure) to meet the shifting organizational demands. You will be engaged in modernization and end to end management of open-source databases in Cloud.  Partnering with the development teams, you will be responsible for Database Reliability, Performance, Security.

What you will do

  • Ensure 24x7 availability for critical database systems hosted on premise and in cloud.

  • Forge strong relationships with Application Development teams to improve the reliability of databases and integration platforms supporting critical applications.

  • Responsible for designing, integrating, and managing enterprise level database systems that are highly available, performant, secure, and scalable.

  • Engage in designing of applications and provide expert advice to development teams to build robust solutions.

  • Participate and builds best practices for building applications and managing databases collaborating various teams.

  • Maintain and improve Service Levels and keep up with department goals for problem resolution.

  • Engage in automation to enhance provisioning and operational efficiency.

  • Mentor and guide junior resources.

What you will need:

Strong professional with 8+ years of experience in database management. The candidate should have strong qualitative and quantitative problem-solving skills along with high on ownership and accountability.

Must have

  • 8+ yrs of relevant hands-on Database management with experience in Relational and NoSQL Databases.

  • 3+ years of experience in managing databases in Cloud (AWS and/or Azure) preferably AWS RDS or Aurora.

  • 2+ years of experience supporting Postgres Databases in Cloud preferably AWS Aurora Postgres.

  • 24/7 Support of modern databases and data lake architectures.

  • Exposure to NoSQL databases such as Dynamo or other Key Value stores and Document Databases.

  • Understanding and ability to work with IaC, CI/CD Pipelines, Jenkins, Terraform, AWS Lambda, Ansible and similar tools.

  • Ability to work with Observability tools such as DataDog , Dynatrace, AWS Performance Insights.

  • Willingness to learn and adopt modern and evolving technologies.

  • Automation experience using shell/python and/or other tools.

Good to have 

  • Understanding and ability to work with Infrastructure as code, CI/CD Pipelines, Terraform

  • Working knowledge on nosql , DynamoDB etc.

  • Knowledge on DMS , Glue, RedShift

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 92,000 USD - 130,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
