About this role:
Gartner is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Analyst to drive new thought-leading research around improving supply chain planning processes, organization, and metrics to solve our client’s business challenges. This research will be mainly targeted to Supply Chain Planning Leaders in different industries globally.
Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations. An analyst possesses a keen eye for identifying gaps, problems, and solutions within the market they serve. They use their knowledge to help clients make better decisions, solve complex issues, and execute new practices that propel clients’ businesses toward key objectives. An analyst publishes these insights as pragmatic and/or provocative research. Additionally, they reinforce Gartner’s value every day by engaging clients via in-person and virtual meetings, sales support visits, Gartner conferences and industry events.
As an industry thought leader in supply chain planning, you will build insights and advise senior supply chain planning leaders on leading trends and best practices in the field around product portfolio planning, demand planning, supply and inventory planning, S&OP and S&OE processes to clients from different industries, different size of organization and with different levels of maturity.
What you’ll do:

Support client’s mission critical priorities of supply chain planning leaders on the following processes: Product portfolio planning, Demand Planning, Supply and Inventory Planning, S&OP and S&OE. This includes supporting our clients to evolve and mature their processes, building the right organization and talent as well as improving their planning technology roadmap.

You will research markets, practices and trends and produce written research for Gartner clients to download and apply. You will collaborate with peers and become a published author on Gartner.com showcasing your own thought-leading research, growing your knowledge and your brand as a Gartner Analyst.

You will meet with clients every day, via video conference and eventually onsite, given client demand. As an analyst, you will engage with clients to support their most challenging business initiatives, ultimately helping them to make the right decisions for their role and their business.

Advise Senior Supply Chain planning leaders across all subsectors of manufacturing – including, but not limited to, CPG, apparel and footwear, high tech, industrial, chemical and process, automotive and A&D – on leading practices in supply chain planning.

Lead process and capability assessments to help supply chain planning leaders align current performance with desired strategy.

Partner with other domain experts to develop industry-leading views on the alignment of other functions (technology, sourcing, logistics, manufacturing, quality) with supply chain planning.

Produce innovative, thought-leading, impactful, analytically deep, fact-based research.

Prepare and deliver high-value presentations and other materials.

Support the Gartner sales team in driving new business through proof of capability discussions.

Drive client demand for your advice and insight

Lead or participate in research community meetings to discuss research issues and collaborate effectively with peers.
What you’ll need:
-
10+ years of experience in supply chain planning, with at least 5 years as a in supply chain planning leader in roles such as S&OP leader, IBP leader, SC Planning transformation leader, or Global SC Planning process owner.

Experience in managing supply chain planning for manufacturers across multiple industries; familiarity with both process and discrete operations preferred.

Genuine approach to help clients improve their status quo. Ability to paint the future and guide them to deliver on their progress.

Possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written; preferably have had the experience of ‘main stage’ speaking.

Demonstrate strong analytical skills, applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns, and drawing conclusions.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, Master's degree preferred.

Limited (<20 days/year) domestic and international travel as needed.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 130,000 USD - 165,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
