About role

Business Analytics Intern –

This role is a part of our Conferences Business Performance & Analytics team. This role will provide an opportunity to support Conferences Marketing, Sales, and other Business teams in analytical and data driven decision making in our fast-paced environment.

Business Intelligence intern –

This role is a part of our Conferences Business Performance & Analytics team. It offers the opportunity to utilize strong data management, integration, and analytical skills to support BI initiatives in our fast-paced environment.

What you will do –

Business Analytics intern

  • Support the Marketing and Sales Analytics teams within Gartner Conferences Business
  • Execute analytics project (descriptive and predictive) to help answer critical commercial questions like marketing effectiveness, sales effectiveness
  • Develop comprehensive, context-rich analyses to support projects and initiatives
  • Design dashboards utilizing Power BI platform
  • Gather, analyze and document reporting requirements
  • Leverage a variety of data sources to create strategic insights via analyses, help define KPIs and targets in partnership with key stakeholders, and support building of a reporting/ recommendation engine to monitor performance against those KPIs
  • Collaborate with Analytics, Business, Operations and IT teams to ensure quality of data
  • Collaborate with team members on initiatives

Business Intelligence Intern

  • Support Business in the Business Intelligence area responsible for reporting requirements in conference sales, marketing, and operations
  • Knowledge gathering/analysis, planning, documenting, and transforming the business requirements into technical & functional specifications for the creation of reports and dashboards
  • Engage and partner with the IT organization and its teams as a solution provider in the data warehousing, and business intelligence areas
  • Create dashboards/reports using PowerBI and Excel
  • Accept candid feedback and look for areas of improvement
  • Collaborate with other team members, Business Associates, and BI analysts

What you will need –

  • Proficient and adept at MS Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint)

Business Analytics Intern –

  • Current pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Economics or related field
  • 0-24 months of experience of working in a professional organization
  • Data-driven, fact-driven, problem-solving, and analytical mindset
  • Experienced in Microsoft SQL Server and any object-oriented programming language (R, Python or any other)
  • Familiar with the foundational approaches to the major data science disciplines, such as data preparation, advanced statistics, and machine learning
  • Experience with visualization tools (Power BI or others) preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate results from the data to business teams using reporting and presentation tools
  • Strong ability to condense complex analysis into clear and concise takeaways that drive action
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail

Business Intelligence Intern –

  • Student currently enrolled in classes leading to an accredited degree in a Business, Computer Science, Operations related discipline
  • Understanding in writing SQL code
  • Knowledge of maintaining data documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-functional team
  • Aptitude for quickly learning new technology and software with ability to apply its use
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability and confidence to present to an audience of varied leadership levels
