Job Brief:
 

Gartner Digital Markets is looking for a Sr Manager of Business Development to work with our global strategic sales organization and manage a team of Sr. Business Development Executives. Our Strategic Business Development team is the foundation of Gartner Digital Markets’ sales organization. They are the revenue generating engine behind all of our success. The Sr. Manager of Business Development’s primary role is to attract, lead, coach and develop a team of senior quota-bearing associates to drive revenue for Gartner Digital Markets.
 

What You Will do:

  • Achieve or overachieve vendor acquisition and revenue targets

  • Coach and develop direct reports on a regular basis

  • Improve the team's success through effective leadership and mentorship

  • Take ownership for own professional growth and support the team's professional growth

  • Attract and retain top talent within the sales team by following Gartner's validated recruitment methodology, with a strong focus on building a pipeline of candidates for potential open territories

  • Drive high quality activity 

  • Establish and maintain enterprise client relationships and industry leaders to represent GDM in an executive capacity

  • Take hands-on responsibility for driving revenue growth and customer value.

  • Deliver against monthly, quarterly, and annual targets set by senior sales leadership


What will need:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred

  • 4 - 6 years of proven consultative sales experience in technology (services or software)

  • 1-3 years proven sales leadership experience

  • Internal candidates should have a demonstrated track record of successful performance as both an individual contributor and leader of quota-bearing associates

  • Able to solve complex problems and successfully manage ambiguity and unexpected change

  • Be teachable and open to best practices and feedback as a means of continuous improvement

  • Be consistent at delivering results through perseverance, humility, and a positive outlook in the face of challenges

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and motivate sales associates

  • Knowledge of business development best practices and methodologies

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 76,000 USD - 171,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates. We also offer market leading benefit programs including generous PTO, a 401k match up to $7,200 per year, the opportunity to purchase company stock at a discount, and more.
