About the role: 

As an International Content Editor, you will work to support our content marketing team by providing feedback to our content analysts and ensuring the quality of our content meets our strict publishing standards and content marketing guidelines. The successful applicant is flexible and adaptable, is a great team player, has an eye for details, and is diligent.

What you’ll do: 

  • Edit articles, blog posts, and research reports created by content analysts for overall writing quality flow, and tone to ensure it is consistent with our brand and audience, as well as for sentence structure, accuracy, and grammar/punctuation. Verify that data points cited by analysts in research reports are accurate and correctly interpreted.

  • Push the team to write content that is engaging. Even though we cover complex technological concepts, the content needs to be easily consumable, understandable, and actionable for our readers.  

  • Proactively identify common issues in the analysts’ work that detract from quality, consistency, or accuracy and provide this feedback in a clear, constructive, and collaborative way. Look for ways to continually increase the quality of all written content. Participate in review sessions with Analysts to deliver constructive feedback.

  • Partner with the Gartner Digital Markets’ research and editing teams to ensure analysts and writers use the appropriate content types, research methodologies, and data standards. 

  • Proactively search for solutions to common bottlenecks and partner with the content leadership team to increase overall content production efficiency as the team continues to scale and more content is produced. 

  • Develop a deep and wide understanding of the business software and technology space to be able to verify and challenge the assumptions and opinions in writers’/analysts’ content. Prepare and lead regular workshops to help improve content quality.

  • Look for opportunities to refine workflows and content production processes. Demonstrate complete ownership of assignments with exceptional time and task management.

What you’ll need: 

  • Minimum two years of experience editing technical web content—preferably a mix of in-depth research reports, news articles, and blog posts

  • Experience working with data (e.g., data from surveys or research studies)

  • Experience working with style guides 

  • Strong writing and exceptional proofreading skills

  • Working proficiency in English (native level preferred) . Advanced knowledge of other languages (German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, and/or Japanese) is a huge plus

  • Experience editing content about software and or/digital content marketing experience is a plus

  • Ability to provide feedback to writers in a constructive and collaborative way

  • Basic SEO knowledge 

  • Experience with content management systems (CMSs), e.g., WordPress is a plus.
