The audio editor will be responsible for editing, mixing and finishing podcasts. The audio editor must be skilled in the post-production process to ensure that expectations and deadlines are met. The ideal candidate will have experience in audio editing for audiobooks and/or podcasts. Successful candidates must have a critical eye for quality and detail and work to ensure every audio project created meets our high quality standards. They must be able to manage multiple projects at various stages of production simultaneously. Organizational and collaborative skills, as well as an ability to prioritize, are a must. Candidates must be familiar with audio editing software Audition and/or Adobe Premiere.
The candidate will join the Research & Advisory Creative team which is an in-house team of 90+ associates responsible for creating compelling materials to support Gartner’s research and advisory needs. Our varied and innovative work includes online demos, media-rich Websites, interactive learning modules, dynamic and interactive business tools, mobile applications, product branding campaigns, high-end marketing materials, custom HTML emails and more.
Job Requirements
- Produce the live episode recording, providing technical support and host guidance
- Familiarity with research, interview prep and scheduling
- Review raw audio to trim and improve episode, decide on preliminary edits, while ensuring narrative consistency
- High-level audio editing skills. You must be both quick and smart in how you cut.
- Edit and mix, or direct the editing and mixing of audio elements.
- Edit, encode, digitize and package audio and video material for websites using appropriate technologies.
- Coordinating with the hosts and guests
- Acquiring and onboarding new guests/ topics (booking)
- Develop and maintain editorial calendar
- Flexibility to adapt for due dates, changing work patterns and methods.
- Log programs in appropriate information systems.
- Perform other production or administrative tasks associated with the smooth functioning of the newsroom, program unit or station.
- Develop and Maintain editorial calendar and podcast briefing documents
Qualifications:
Skills
Background and Experience
- 3 - 5 years Audio Production and Editing experience
- BA in video/audio production, graphic arts or related degree preferred.
- Reel of audio/podcast work
Technical Skills
- Extensive experience with Adobe Audition
- Experience in editing for audio (including intro/outro)
- Good editorial judgment and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to take critical feedback and incorporate it into the work.
- Proven track record of ensuring a diversity of voices is reflected in storytelling. Contributes to the diversity of perspectives on the team.

- Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Solid organizational and time management skills
- Flexibility to shift priorities quickly within a fast-paced work environment
- Strong conceptual thinking with great attention to detail
