About this Role

Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations. A Senior Principal possesses a maturing vision for their evolving market at local, regional and global levels, which they combine with exceptional research and analytical skills to produce pragmatic and provocative research for Gartner clients. They also meet regularly with Gartner’s clients via virtual meetings or in-person to discuss complex client challenges and offer solutions. This position offers opportunities to create and deliver compelling presentations at Gartner conferences, industry events and sales support visits. 

What you will do
 

Organizations and their software engineering groups are more agile in their development dynamically deploying more outsourced services and often taking a hybrid approach to customized software development or produce integration services. They are increasingly willing to work with third party providers to implement development products or deliver customized solutions, faster and more effectively than ever before. But how do they know they have the right working model, the right contract, the right partners with the right price at the appropriate levels of risks? This is where you come in.

  • Define and conduct research to craft in-depth content on trends in the custom software services or implementations market, particularly strategic assessments, negotiations, pricing and contracting. 

  • Demonstrate awareness of best practices and strategies in outsourcing software development and/or integration services of products as API management, iPaaS, low-code no-code, PRA or software development platforms to create thought leading and impactful research notes against specific timelines

  • Suggest analyses to run on complex datasets and identify potential problems in quantitative analysis

  • Apply critical thinking skills to de-construct and frame challenging client questions to help them achieve their mission critical priorities

  • Provide enterprise clients and prospects with actionable advice aligned to their buying journeys via virtual or face-to-face interactions throughout all phases of the sourcing lifecycle.

  • Develop presentation materials for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings 

  • Collaborate across Gartner research groups to ensure research, presentations, and positions provide the best actions and advice for our clients 

  • Support Sales and Service and other internal stakeholders to drive proactive engagement towards clients’ relevant research key initiatives 

  • Collaborate with team members on content area key initiatives and emerging areas/trends

  • Participate in research community meetings to discuss research issues and collaborate effectively with peers

  • Maintain Gartner’s industry leadership reputation by responding to media and press inquiries. 

What you will need

  • 8 years of relevant field or industry experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or relevant experience required

  • Business knowledge and strategies in outsourcing software development and/or integration services of products as API management, iPaaS, low-code no-code, PRA or software development platforms

  • Subject matter expertise and experience in IT services sector particular around software development outsourcing or implementation services.

  • Ability to work independently and as a team player, supporting the workflow of others, in a multicultural global team

  • Demonstrate superior analytical skills while applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns while drawing and defending conclusions

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables

  • Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions

  • Ability to demonstrate use of quantitative techniques to come up with solutions for clients

  • Ability to demonstrate executive presence; Can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders as well as offer contrary points of view in order to influence others

  • Strong learning agility and ability to absorb research methodology
