Senior Principal, HR Advisory – Total Rewards
(West Coast - Pacific or Mountain time zone)
About this role:
As an advisor, you will bring Gartner's research, best practices, and tools to life for clients around the world. You’ll work directly with clients daily to understand their problems, share potential solutions, and guide them toward action. You may suggest a different approach, share a best practice from another industry, or point the client to an action-oriented Gartner tool to get them started on an initiative. Advisors work closely with our research team, bringing client perspectives to help guide the research agenda and client event calendar. You will also support service and revenue partners on client retention and business growth opportunities.

In this role you’ll be working with Total Rewards Leaders and CHRO’s on critical priorities such as:
- Updating total rewards strategies to keep pace with changing business needs
- Driving performance through rewards and recognition programs
- Communicating benefits effectively to support retention
The ideal candidate will have worked directly in Total Rewards or held roles such as HR Business Partner or Talent Acquisition Consultant that created consistent exposure to and comprehensive working knowledge of total rewards programs and practices (annual awards, incentive plan design, base compensation, benefits, recognition, well-being, etc.)
What you will do:
- Engage senior executives by establishing credibility, diagnosing needs, building relationships, having substantive content discussions, solving problems, and identifying relevant resources
- Deliver must-have research in one-on-one meetings, workshops, small group forums, and large stage presentations
- Discern patterns among client needs to shape the direction of ongoing research and content creation
- Partner with sales and service delivery partners to increase account growth, retention, and engagement
What you will need:
- Bachelor's degree
- 6 to 9 years of experience in Human Resources with consistent exposure to or partnering with Total Rewards (compensation, benefits, wellbeing). Willingness and ability to travel up to 10%

California Annualized Base Pay Range: 100,000 USD - 115,000 USD
Colorado Annualized Base Pay Range: 92,000 USD - 105,800 USD
New Jersey Annualized Base Pay Range: 108,000 USD - 124,200 USD
New York Annualized Base Pay Range: 108,000 USD - 124,200 USD
Washington Annualized Base Pay Range: 100,000 USD - 115,000 USD
Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
