About the Role:

We’re looking for a Senior Principal Analyst to help Heads of HR, Heads of Talent Management, Heads Talent Acquisition, Heads Talent Development as well as business leaders drive the impact and value of talent management initiatives in their organizations. Gartner talent management research conducts primary and secondary research on a range of topics including, but not limited to, talent strategies and programs (including, e.g., talent acquisition, assessment, performance management, development, career management, employee experience, and others), talent management operating models and governance, talent management impact measurement and impact as well as critical vendors in the field.  Our advice helps senior talent and business leaders at hundreds of client organizations spanning every major industry vertical and region get foresight to manage complex market dynamics. If you’ve got significant talent management leadership responsibility and are eager to write research and advise senior leaders--outside of a traditional consulting engagement model--then this is the role for you.  We are specifically looking for someone to join our team who can speak to and write about talent management topics--setting talent strategies and programs, evolving TM operating models and governance, driving TM impact measurement as well as covering critical vendors in the field.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research across a broad range of TM topics, including strategies and programs, operating models and governance, impact measurement impact as well as vendors.

  • Provide direction to senior leaders in prospect and client conversations.

  • Create materials for and deliver both face-to-face and virtual presentations and discussions with individuals and groups of senior leaders.

  • Help rapidly expand the TM market and dynamics coverage for a high-growth practice area and very engaged, team.

  • Ensure integrity of our research and maintain Gartner independence.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.

  • 8 years of experience in a Talent Management leadership roles or professional services/ advisory roles in a business environment.

  • Deep understanding of Talent Management, including market dynamics, vendors, products and strategies.

  • Experience in designing, implementing, and managing Talent Management strategies, programs and initiatives either in individual organizations or for third party vendors.

  • Strong writing skills, and ability to take feedback and provide peer review to others.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a self-motivated manner but within a collaborative team environment.

  • Strong communicator who can explain complex concepts both concisely and simply to senior talent and business leaders.

  • Strong willingness to challenge conventional norms and views, persistence, and intellectual curiosity to evaluate leading approaches.

  • Comfort and confidence presenting at small and large speaking engagements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in a related field preferred.

  • Knowledge and experience working with TM technologies and applications.
