The mission of the Quantitative Innovation Practice within the Technology & Service Provider research and advisory group is to provide product and marketing leaders with foundational and innovative, forward-looking quantitative insight and advice on technology market dynamics, the competitive environment, customer buying preferences and behaviors.
What you will do:
Through exceptional research and analytical skills, you will:
- Track specific business and technology areas on an on-going basis and build broad domain expertise around enterprise and hyperscalers data centers.
- Identify key trends, influencing factors and key metrics that are/will impact these markets.
- Grasp concepts, directions, and impacts of new approaches to IT (digital business, cloud based services, etc.) and identify how these will impact end-user buying behavior.
- Formulate theories of how Data Center Infrastructure hardware markets behave.
- Learn how technology providers are evolving their business models and the implications to the competitive environment, technology, and buyer behavior.
- Analyze company financial statements to identify market participation and trends.
How you will develop your insight:
As a Principal, you will be developing a vision of Data Center Infrastructure markets, with an initial focus on the evolving Server market at local, regional, and global levels.
- You will have an individualized development plan geared towards acquiring the knowledge and skills that you need for long-term career success at Gartner.
- You will be working with thought leaders in the field, with the goal to design and deepen your subject matter expertise through an extensive peer network and best-in-class research resources.
- You will work in a collaborative global setting with individuals, helping shape the future.
What you will need:
- Highly numerate with excellent critical thinking skills. Must be able to quickly grasp and articulate the fundamentals of a market and what drives supply and demand side behavior.
- 5 - 7 years of proven experience market sizing, forecasting and other quantitative analysis.
- Experience with modelling tools. Excellent Excel user.
- Passion for predictive thinking, complex forecast analysis and discussions
- Very good writing skills.
- Strong sense of ownership and ‘get-it-done’ attitude.
- Can work and deliver results with light day-to-day task supervision.
- Language: Excellence in English both written and spoken
- Proven record of academic achievement at highest level, with quantitative aspects, such as statistics, business, economics. Bachelor's Degree and/or advanced professional qualification(s) in related field, relevant Master's Degree (or MBA) an advantage
