About this role
We are seeking a Research, Principal to support the discovery of actionable business ideas that will help HR leaders transform their organizations, people, and business outcomes. Principals focus on strategic thought-work, peeling apart ideas in search of insight. They work closely with C-level executives to identify and produce research that solves complex human resources challenges on a global scale.
In this role, you will be a key player in the HR Practice’s ongoing research initiative focused on total rewards, exploring how HR leaders can best leverage their compensation and benefits offerings to both support employees and drive organizational success. This role will enable you to explore your intellectual curiosity in a collaborative, team-based environment. The team puts significant emphasis on an inclusive team dynamic and the personal and professional development of each team member.
What you will do
- Learn and execute Gartner's proven methodology for conducting world-class research that helps identify best practice solutions to many of today's biggest human resources challenges.
- Author key research deliverables, including but not limited to large research studies, white papers, case studies, presentations and webinars, guidebooks, templates, roundtable discussions, or custom, in-bound research requests.
- Conduct research interviews with C-level executives and conduct extensive secondary literature searches, using these interactions to drive research deliverables and inform research colleagues of key insights shaping the total rewards landscape.
- Draft surveys and analyze survey data to establish benchmarks and evaluate the impact of rewards strategies on key client outcomes.
- Stay abreast of key trends affecting HR and total rewards and use this knowledge to drive timely and relevant product plans and research deliverables.
What you will need
- A Bachelor's degree required, and a Master’s/PhD in a social science preferred.
- 5+ years of experience conducting primary and secondary research utilizing qualitative and quantitative data, with particular expertise in survey design and analysis.
- A critical thinker and problem solver with strong business acumen and intellectual curiosity demonstrating the ability to assess business problems and provide actionable, outcome-based insights.
- A great writer with experience converting qualitative and quantitative information into clear frameworks, narratives and visually compelling presentations for executive clients.
- A skilled collaborator, able to guide research projects with multiple contributors as well as produce research individually.
- An effective project manager with proven competence for meeting deadlines, multi-tasking and managing work under ambiguity/uncertainty (e.g., changing factors, limited information).
