Associate Database Administrator


About the Role:

Analyst Engineer will provide technical expertise in designing, managing, and administering Databases in Cloud (AWS & Azure) to meet the shifting organizational demands.  You will engage in modernization activities to migrate application databases to open source and cloud and will be part of automation efforts to enhance provisioning and operations of all types of datastores.

Job Specification:

  • Ensure availability of critical database systems hosted on premise and on cloud
  • Manage the implementation, maintenance and enforcement of effective industry standard processes and policies across environments.
  • Meeting and exceeding SLA's/OLA's. Prepared for advancing technology.
  • Provide status reports to the higher management.
  • Maintain Service Levels and department goals for problem resolution.
  • Effective patch management and upgrade management.
  • Works closely with other Cloud and Data Center Management staff to ensure departmental consistency.
  • Perform installation, configuration and upgrading of databases on all environments
  • Provide On Call/Ad-hoc weekend support of the database environment.

Job Requirements:

  • 2-4 yrs of relevant hands-on experience in Oracle / Postgres databases
  • Working experience on AWS and Azure cloud database technologies
  • Good knowledge of database fundamentals and deep knowledge of database architecture and concepts.
  • Willingness to learn open source / other databases technologies.
  • Good knowledge of automation for provisioning and administration tasks
  • Hands-on experience in all generic database administration activities
  • Scripting languages such as shell/python will be good to have
  • Experience/focus on automation day-day operational tasks
  • Understanding and ability to work with Infrastructure as code, CI/CD Pipelines, Terraform
