Email Marketing Manager


Gartner Digital Markets is looking for an Email Marketing Manager with a strong email background to develop and manage our email programs and initiatives. In coordination with the vendor marketing leadership, this role will drive the strategy, audience segmentation, and end-to-end campaign development for Gartner Digital Markets.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage and execute on the key strategic email program initiatives at each stage of the customer journey particularly focusing on prospecting, nurturing, retention, and winback stages.
  • Create and refine effective programs that leverage tenure and customer behavior data, and include a mix of triggered, targeted and broad educational campaigns.
  • Ability to map customer journey nurture email strategies and implement plans.
  • Identify and define key performance indicators and reports needed to optimize channel effectiveness and track against Lifecycle goals.
  • Play an active role in driving content development for email programs - writing or contributing to briefs, ensuring creative aligns to brand standards, and incorporating channel best practices.
  • Maintain positive and productive relationships with product, content, analytics, and marketing operations teams to ensure experiments and overall strategy of Lifecycle email programs are measurable and meaningful to the user.
  • Gather customer data from internal data teams to better segment and target personalized messaging to our audience.
  • Communicate customer insights from email programs and identify opportunities to share insights more broadly across the organization.
  • Manage a measurement framework, in partnership with our Analytics and Marketing Operations teams, refining success metrics and inputs that show impact of our programs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for B2B/B2C best practices for email marketing and regularly present trends and program recommendations across the organization.

What You Will Need:

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing with at least 4 years of dedicated email experience (SaaS experience a big plus)
  • Strong grasp of marketing strategies that create personalized, end-to-end lifecycle journeys for users across multiple channels
  • Demonstrated experience developing a lifecycle strategy and implementing within an organization
  • Robust analytical skills - quickly digesting large amounts of data, identifying trends, and pursuing the right questions to take action.
  • Demonstrated project management skills including: planning resources, managing deadlines and objectives, delivering recommendations.
  • Experience working with marketing automation (like Eloqua, Hubspot)
  • Experience working with data visualization tools (like Google Analytics, Power BI)
  • Experience working with CRMs (like SugarCRM, Salesforce)
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills and strong executive presence. Comfortable interpreting results and communicating insights effectively to stakeholders and senior leadership
  • A highly collaborative and “team-first” work style
