About the role:
This is a unique opportunity for quantitative research and analytics experts to make a big impact on Gartner’s thought-leading content insights group as part of the QUADS COE. As a senior quantitative expert and team leader, the Director (Quantitative Analytics & Data Science), will lead teams responsible for delivering quantitative research workstreams, driving the creation of strong evidence-based insights, and championing innovative data collection and data (re)use in research. This critical role will report to the VP, QUADS COE. As a Director, the candidate would be expected to manage a team of individual contributors as well as managers aligned with different Gartner research practices (like IT RBP, CIO, ITL), enabling them to deliver must-have research, growing business and managing global stakeholders. The leader will also be responsible for building, setting up Data Science capability for one practice to begin with but further being able to scale across other QUADS COE practice-aligned teams.
What you will do:

Partner with the VP and other senior members in the team to drive quantitative analytics strategy for the COE.

Drive an innovative portfolio of quantitative research content.

Lead and oversee new-to-world quantitative research from idea to client-ready deliverables.

Build quantitative models to test research hypotheses and analyze large data sets using advanced statistical techniques to identify actionable insights for senior executives.

Convert research and survey results into clear narratives and visually compelling presentations with actionable recommendations that clients can implement.

Build strong relationships with stakeholders and partners (e.g., qualitative researchers, Analysts, Advisors, Chiefs of Research, etc.) to deliver compelling quantitative research insights.

Ensure goal creation for the broader function, and that goals & competencies are aligned with similar roles across R&A

Lead, motivate, develop, and coach team members on all aspects of quantitative research (including survey design, data analysis, data visualization, advanced quantitative methods, and data science streams).

Lead talent acquisition strategy and execution in partnership with the HR, Recruitment, and Campus Interns & Hiring teams

Drive the quantitative research to create high-quality data-driven deliverables such as published research, client presentations, webinars and tools that result in strengthening and improving the content we provide to our clients.

Coach and mentor the team on using best practices across primary and secondary data acquisition, data analysis and analytical methodologies, data visualization, content creation and data science techniques

Build and realize the vision along with driving the growth of Center of Excellence (COE) teams in line with R&A Ops strategy.

Partner with R&A practice areas leadership to understand their mission-critical research priorities and make staffing and resourcing decisions that maximize India COE leverage.

Lead strategic business development initiatives aimed at building long-term quantitative research capabilities for Gartner’s Research& Advisory organization.

Manage financial and budgeting responsibilities of the appropriate teams.

Identify ways to measure ROI of all investments (internal & external)

Provides global primary, secondary & quantitative research advice to any Gartner associates, with specific emphasis on Research Practice Leaders and Team Managers
What you will need:
-
Bachelor’s Degree minimum. MBA or master’s degree or Ph.D. in Economics / Statistics / other related fields preferred.

10+ years of related work experience; experience in management consulting or business research roles preferred.
-
Ability to lead the team experience in creating a variety of quantitative models, tuning them, and measuring their performance.
-
Strong understanding of advanced survey and sample design and demonstrated record of relevant, practical application of survey design methods and ability to coach others on these.
-
Hands-on past experience in statistical packages (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R, etc.) for advanced analytics (e.g., multi-variate regressions, logistic regressions, cluster analysis, factor analysis, etc.)

Knowledge of the latest tools and techniques in analytics and data visualization is a plus.

Understanding of data science techniques, ML concepts and application of AI in research and analytics fields

Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines.
