About the role:

Working as part of a diverse team within the Enterprise Technology Operations Org you will be responsible for the design, planning, implementation, and support of our Network infrastructure at conferences worldwide.  Working hand in hand with the conferences team you will help us to ensure that every conference we produce is the single most important annual gathering for the roles we target and the communities we create around the globe whilst helping to empower our internal teams and drive innovation within our business unit and Gartner as a whole.

What you will do:

  • Setup, support, and implementation of IP network solutions.

  • Advanced configuration and support of EIGRP, OSPF, IPSec VPN, Spanning Tree as well as the ability to implement tools for monitoring and troubleshooting the previous services.

  • Advanced support of DHCP, WINS, remote access systems.

  • Identify, isolate, and resolve network problems quickly to mitigate business impact.

  • Setup, support, implementation, and documentation of processes for laptop builds and images.

  • Design, configuration, and troubleshooting of WLAN, WLC, VWLC, Core Network Stack and distribution infrastructure.

  • Work closely with peers to meet team goals and improve processes and practices.

  • Assist Peers, Database Administrators, and Architects with necessary setup for testing of new operating systems, features, patches, and architecture changes as needed.

  • Work with a team to maintain a fully equipped IT Lab environment.

  • Remote Support of Virtual conferences via webex, intrado, shindig, teams etc…

  • Liaison and Collaboration with Architecture and Software teams on certain aspects of automation within our team.

What you will need:

  • 2-4 years of experience with enterprise wireless (preferred: Cisco)

  • Through knowledge and experience with CISCO Routing and Switching Platforms (IOS, IOS-XE)

  • CCNA/CCNP Switching and Routing / Wireless or equivalent.

  • Extensive experience with Internet services and routing as well as experience working with ISPs is essential.

  • Solid understanding and experience with enterprise level wireless networks.

  • Wireless fine-tuning experience.

  • Familiarity with Cloud services such as AWS and Azure.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence across multiple teams.

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, frequently changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment

  • The individual must be a fast learner, self-motivated, disciplined, organized, detail-oriented and able to work independently.

  • Possess strong communication; ability to work independently and to manage priorities; strong customer service, and organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate in a multi-team environment.

  • Possess strong commitment to team environment dynamics with the ability to contribute and follow leadership directives at appropriate times.

  • Applicant should possess Client-facing experience, able to interact directly with C-level Clients in person and able to understand the Client's needs to solve Network or IT related issues and difficulties quickly and tactfully.

  • International Travel up to 60%

  • Candidate able to work extended hours and weekends

  • Ability to use good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills when working with Venue IT staff and partners.
