Director Analyst, Supply Chain Performance
Remote in Ireland or the United Kingdom
Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations. A Director possesses a keen eye for identifying gaps, problems, and solutions within the market they serve. They use their knowledge to help clients make better decisions, solve complex issues, and execute new practices that propel clients’ businesses toward key objectives. A Director publishes these insights as pragmatic and/or provocative research. Additionally, they reinforce Gartner’s value every day by engaging clients via in-person and virtual meetings, sales support visits, Gartner conferences and industry events.
As a thought leader in supply chain performance, you will advise senior supply chain leaders on leading trends in the field. You will build on deep domain expertise in the end-to-end supply chain to advise leaders on how best to develop and align metrics, execute management routines for improved performance, and develop robust visibility and reporting processes/tools.
What you’ll do:
- Lead Gartner Supply Chain’s coverage of performance management in the end-to-end supply chain; including metric design and definition, strategy alignment and deployment, management routines, and reporting processes/tools.
- Drive research on performance management strategy and best practices in supply chain for all subsectors of manufacturing including but not limited to CPG, apparel and footwear, high tech, industrial, chemical and process, automotive and A&D. Secondary industries to support include retail, distributors, and healthcare providers.
- Lead benchmarking engagements to help supply chain leaders align current performance with desired strategy.
- Partner with other domain experts to develop industry-leading views on the future of functional performance across plan, source, make, deliver; including future-focused research on the metrics of the future as supply chains evolve.
- Conduct ongoing interaction via video calls, with clients and prospects in senior supply chain roles.
- Produce innovative, thought-leading, impactful, analytically deep, fact-based research.
- Prepare and deliver high-value presentations and other materials.
- Support the Gartner sales team in driving new business through proof of capability discussions.
- Drive client demand for your advice and insight.
- Lead or participate in research community meetings to discuss research issues and collaborate effectively with peers.
What you’ll need:
- Located in UK/IR. Have 10+ years of experience in the supply chain, with at least 8+ years in end-to-end roles in SC planning, strategy, and/or COE.
- Have a working knowledge of supply chain metrics and reporting capabilities, as well as hands-on experience developing or improving management routines. Demonstrated experience working with VP and/or Head of Function-level stakeholders to use metrics and data to improve performance.
- Possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Preferably have had the experience of ‘main stage’ speaking.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills, applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns, and drawing conclusions. Have strong project planning and management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree minimum.
- Some international travel as required from time to time.
