Sr. Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Sr Software Engineer, to build data driven, scalable, and secure applications and tools, for supporting the sales and service delivery organization at Gartner. The individual will be responsible for design, development and delivery of Web Applications and microservices written in Java and Cloud.

What you’ll do

  • Develop all phases of the software development lifecycle, including system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation.
  • Work across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth.
  • Develop new features and infrastructure development in support of rapidly emerging business and project requirements.
  • Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful application design. Strong debugging /problem analyzing skills.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders and team members to achieve shared goals.
  • Be a strong contributor to the product vision and drive team planning.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The successful candidate will be adaptable, results-focused and can work individually or as part of a team.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or comparable professional software development work experience.
  • 5+ years of solid experience in full stack software development using React JS, Java/J2EE, Spring/Spring boot and MicroServices.
  • 4+ years of experience in Core Java version 8 and above, J2EE,  Spring boot, Spring related frameworks.
  • 3+ years of experience in front end frameworks on React JS (MUST), Node JS or Angular JS, HTML, CSS.
  • 3+ years of solid experience in building resilient, scalable and reactive MicroServices.
  • 2+ years of experience with AWS cloud, AWS Lambda development using Java or Python.
  • 2+ years of experience with container technologies like Docker, Kunernates, ECS, EKS.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns & principles like SOLID, KISS, DRY, YAGNI.
  • Good understanding of programming algorithms, Java collections framework and MicroService architecture design principles.
  • Experience in DevOps, Agile, Scrum and CI/CD pipeline.
  • Experience in DevOps Tools - GIT, Jenkins, JIRA, Test Driven development - JUnit, SonarCube.
  • 2-3 years of experience with database functions, procedures, triggers, packages & Views. 
  • Working experience with onsite/offshore models is preferred.
  • Proficiency with SQL database development, including data modeling and DB performance tuning.
  • Experience with Python or Go Lang is a plus.
  • Experience with AWS SQS, SNS, Cloudwatch, Eventbridge is a plus.
