Description
Senior UX Designer
At Gartner, you’ll be part of a fast-growing team that helps the world become smarter and more connected. We’re the world’s leading research and advisory company, achieving consistent double-digit growth by steering clients toward the right decisions with business and technology insights they can’t find anywhere else. Our associates enjoy a collaborative work environment, exceptional training and career development — as well as unlimited growth opportunities. If you like working with a curious, supportive, high-performing team, Gartner is the place for you.
Role
We’re looking for a seasoned user experience designer to help us continue to define the vision, product strategy, and user experience of a newly released SaaS product called BuySmart. As part of the Gartner BuySmart product group, you’ll be joining a team of engineers, product managers, and designers who are committed to building world class products to transform how businesses buy enterprise software.
Our ideal candidate has a track record of designing and shipping SaaS products, possesses extreme attention to detail, concisely communicates complicated concepts, and is excited about combining complex business processes with beautiful UX and design.
This is a hands-on role focused on both product discovery and design objectives. The position involves conducting user research, translating research data into user flows, customer journey maps, and wireframes, designing low fidelity mockups, building prototypes, and iterating the solution in accordance with user feedback. The Senior UX Designer will also assist with maintenance of the design system, including writing component specifications and defining accessibility standards. He or she may also occasionally be responsible for creating high fidelity mockups, writing JIRA tickets, and assisting with acceptance testing (quality assurance).
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Designed and shipped SaaS applications that help companies manage complex processes in an elegant way
- A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), human computer interaction, planning and conducting user research, user testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns
- Experience using a design system, ideally helping define and maintain components
- Strong visual design, brand, and user experience instincts; ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently
- Experience delivering responsive web designs
- Experience working directly with developers to assess the feasibility of proposed designs
- Deep expertise in Figma or equivalent design software for mockups and prototyping
- 7+ years of experience spanning the product design lifecycle with a high growth SaaS company
You may be a fit if:
- You’re a creative, customer-obsessed thinker who loves solving customer problems
- You thrive in a collaborative environment, and look forward to working with a close knit team of remote designers, engineers, and product managers every day
- You have a knack for identifying acute customer pain points and translating those into specific designs, even when those pain points are articulated as broad concepts
- You excel at distilling complex B2B processes and tasks into simple, elegant user experiences that people enjoy
- Whether it’s sketches, wireframes, prototypes, or pixel perfect designs, you are comfortable advancing design concepts from inception to shipped product
- You have an exceptional portfolio that demonstrates your skills in relevant product areas such as SaaS or B2B marketplaces
