Assistant Manager, Variable Comp


About this role:

The Assistant Manager, Variable Compensation works closely with leadership and other team members to maintain the highest standards and procedures on our support team as we provide excellent customer service to Gartner’s global sales force.

What you’ll do: 

  • Monitor the day-to-day activities of a remote multi-channel (ticket, email, chat, phone) support center, which handles employee inquiries regarding compensation

  • Assist leadership by collecting and analyzing Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Annual support center statistics as they determine and set standards of performance, i.e., quality, volume, customer satisfaction, root cause analysis, etc.

  • Prepare ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed for leadership

  • Develop and update processes within ticketing system to enhance efficiencies of inquiry resolution

  • Stay abreast of new technologies and best practices concerning Support Team operations

  • Assist in development of training and onboarding initiatives; observe and support staff to ensure a thorough understanding of processes

  • Ensure team is up to date on all information, processes, tools, and resources applicable to their role – confirming documentation is updated.

  • Interpret compensation plans and rules for complex situations or when conflicting rules impact a situation and decide best course of action

  • Advocate open communication and share ideas for enhancements and improvements

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years in a supervisor role, leading, mentoring, and developing teams is required (preference in a support center, help desk, call center, systems, or similar industry)

  • Ability to efficiently gather data, perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and succinctly communicate analyses in a language understood by business leaders across multiple disciplines within an organization

  • Prior experience in CRM or Ticketing systems with admin access

  • 2+ years of Microsoft Office Suite experience (Excel, PowerPoint, Access); SQL is a plus!

  • 2+ years of experience with data visualization tools (Power BI / Tableau)

  • Proven track record of driving change in the areas of people, process, and technology.

  • Excellent problem solving and project management skills.

  • Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment

  • Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

  • Exceptional customer service skills and stakeholder relationship management

  • Perseverance, humility and a positive outlook in the face of challenges

  • Motivated with the demonstrated ability to influence and lead
