What we are looking for:

Gartner is looking for an analyst to provide research and advisory to Midsize Enterprise clients in the US, EMEA and beyond. You are likely to have experience as a Data & Analytics Strategy consultant, or Head/Chief of Data and Analytics or equivalent role for Midsize Enterprises. You will have proven experience in leading Data and Analytics initiatives. Your experience will include creating indispensable insights that will help Midsize Enterprise CIOs strategize, plan, and execute their data and analytics mission critical priorities.

Who you are:

To thrive in this role, it helps if you are obsessed with your topic! Gartner analysts are correctly viewed as THE experts. This means you need to know your markets, vendors, trends, management practices, etc. and be able to see the forest and the trees.

  • Excellent collaborator with the ability to quickly build rapport and gain client trust
  • Confident presenter with a high level of executive presence (prior experience with speaking engagements is a plus)
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to process information quickly and make actionable recommendations
  • Willing to challenge conventional norms and views

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delight clients in all interactions, to drive client retention and growth through effective engagement with clients and prospects.
  • Develop and deliver the insights, advice and one-on-one guidance that advance clients’ key initiatives and give them a competitive edge in the context of the MSE agenda storyline.
  • Stay on top of trends, the relevant vendors and marketplace, common approaches, and leading ideas and generate new thought leading ideas and best practices.
  • Use thought processes, analytic tools, and evidence/fact base within appropriate standards and processes to generate these insights.

Real expert in :

  • 10 plus years’ experience working within a technology field and relevant management experience as well as a bachelor’s degree in a related field a Masters being preferred.
  • Demonstrated delivery of provocative or pragmatic content, innovation and thought leadership and research coverage flexibility in support of clients and members.
  • Engagement in collaborative teamwork that improves colleague, cohort and team skills, knowledge, and performance.
  • Exceptional and articulate communication skills; ability to explain complex ideas simply and effectively. Good storyteller.
  • Exceptional analytical skills: ability to apply conceptual models, recognize patterns, draw, and defend conclusions with peer analysts and clients.

Preferred Skills: 

  • Familiarity with Data and Analytics practices and challenges of MSE enterprises
  • Broad working knowledge of all aspects of Data and Analytics, and the corresponding strategies and service and market evolution.
  • Familiarity with solutions and services vendors in the Data and Analytics marketplace for Midsize Enterprises.
  • Understanding business fundamentals.
  • Curiosity in top trends in data and analytics technology and practices.
  • Market research, data collection and analysis.
  • Strong writing and verbal skills.
  • Project and program management fundamentals.
  • Proven ability to excel in a fast paced, matrixed, global environment.
