What ISLs do:
Our ISL Leaders are responsible for growing ISL businesses and teams, leveraging deep subject matter expertise to promote Gartner Consulting’s engagement within strategic industry segments. ISLs provide a comprehensive understanding of an industry segment’s mission critical priorities, operational drivers, trends, catalysts, disruptors, and provide market insight within their specific domain to help strategically advance client outcomes. ISLs represent Gartner Consulting’s thought leadership for a select industry segment, maintaining leading edge critical thinking, contextualized engagement tools and IP.
ISLs support and collaborate with our geographic Consulting teams and One Gartner partners to meet client objectives. Geographic Consulting teams manage client accounts, deepening and extending client relationships through strategic advisory support and delivering Consulting engagements. Where geographic accounts contain ISL-specific organizations or needs, ISLs provide industry-specific insight in support of account planning, business development and engagement delivery activities. While Gartner clients are our singular focus, ISLs consider geographic account teams as a key customer – providing industry expertise to help them orient to engage and excel with industry-specific clients to enable account growth objectives.
Transportation IT Strategic Consulting:
We engage Public Sector Transportation clients on a deeper level through hands-on, project-based work grounded in the insights and advice of our Research and Advisory organization and the industry knowledge of Transportation subject matter experts. Through these custom engagements, we help our clients optimize their IT performance by guiding them toward the right strategic decisions for their business and operations.

What you’ll do
The Transportation ISL Leader is responsible for formalizing, sustaining and growing Gartner Consulting’s client relationships with Public Sector Transportation clients . As a ISL Lead/Managing Partner, you will build and maintain a portfolio of Transportation engagements and lead associates and consulting teams that advise clients at the highest strategic level on both big-picture and tactical matters – showcasing Transportation subject matter expertise and how technology enables a wide range of Transportation outcomes. Your knowledge of Transportation industry trends, drivers, disruptors and constraints will drive Gartner’s go-to-market strategy and optimize the market opportunity. Our ISL Leaders/Managing Partners collaborate with Geographic MPs and teams, Practices, Expert Partners and others to bring the best solutions to our clients.
What you’ll need

In-depth experience in the Transportation industry – with a specific focus on the Public Sector – and thorough knowledge of Transportation organizations’ mission critical priorities, operations, trends and leading practices

Deep subject matter expertise in the specific and enterprise technologies, systems and capabilities that enable Public Sector Transportation organizations

Experience working with Transportation clients to achieve optimal operational outcomes

The ability to link market trends (operational, technical, environmental, financial, political) to Consulting opportunities and drive Gartner’s Transportation market strategy
-
Understanding of and the ability to recognize and leverage opportunities related to industry funding streams (e.g., IIJA)
-
Ability to define and execute an industry-specific consulting growth strategy
-
Experience effectively managing a portfolio of engagements, teams and financials
-
Ability to attract, retain and grow a team of subject matter experts
-
Ability to advance critical thinking, create content and IP that resonate with both Gartner stakeholders and clients

Experience in a project leadership, delivery and sales capacity
-
Prior experience in a problem-solving capacity such as a solution/technical architect or analyst preferred

Experience working with multiple IT solutions

Consistent record of success selling Consulting services to Transportation clients

A consistent track record of leading people and building high-performing teams that leverage technology to drive the mission-critical priorities of Transportation organizations

Ability to develop and manage virtual teams focused on stakeholders across Gartner Consulting

An ability to inspire and motivate professionals from both technical and non-technical backgrounds towards a common goal

An unwavering commitment to the success of your team, and willingness to provide constructive / corrective action when / if needed

Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and the creative development of solutions and strategies to solve client problems.

Experience adapting Gartner frameworks and methodologies to reach clients’ most pressing business challenges
