About the Role:

Gartner is growing!  We are continuing to innovate, and with that, so does Americas Large Enterprise. As a Role Based Product Specialist you will partner with the Chief Data Officer and their teams to catapult our market opportunity and play a critical role fueling Gartner’s growth. 

What you’ll do:

  • Serves as a role-based product expert to develop and successfully sell new business opportunities, identify customer solutions, and close complex sales in assigned territory.
  • Strong focus on selling to only net new/prospective clients and transitioning closed clients to existing AEs for continued Gartner service
  • Identifies new market opportunities and key decision-makers to identify/quality prospects and pursues/closes relevant opportunities.
  • Gathers detailed information about accounts to develop an understanding of clients’ business needs and how to best position the product. 
  • Collaborates with sales associates on how to position the product offering, and imparts an understanding of Gartner’s value proposition, pricing and sales processes related to creating proposals and closing sales.
  • Provides potential clients with a thorough description of the product and identifies competitive advantages of EU Role Based products over competitor products/offerings.
  • Actively participates in the account planning process with Account Executives and Sales Managers in assigned territories.

What you need:

  • Prior experience/knowledge in data & analytics to align Gartner’s capabilities to the priorities of chief data officers.
  • 10+ years proven consultative sales experience in high technology (services or software) to large multi-national companies
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment with a team selling approach
  • Ability to build credibility quickly with new clients
  • Proven experience in developing new business, by effectively building prospect lists and transitioning prospect companies to clients
  • Proven experience in closing enterprise-wide complex sales solutions
  • Ability to comprehend and problem solve by thinking and acting quickly on your feet
  • Strong ability to influence others in the organization with no direct reporting relationship
  • Ability to articulate a strong value proposition at the executive level
  • Comprehensive understanding of technology buying centers
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills at an executive level
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree – desired

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. Certain locations in the United States require job postings to include a reasonable estimate of the base salary range and/or a general description of benefits and other compensation applicable to the role. For this role in those locations, the base salary range for new hires is:

California Annualized Base Pay Range: 108,000 USD - 154,000 USD

Colorado Annualized Base Pay Range: 102,000 USD - 145,500 USD

New Jersey Annualized Base Pay Range: 114,000 USD - 163,000 USD

New York Annualized Base Pay Range: 114,000 USD - 163,000 USD

Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates. We also offer market leading benefit programs including generous PTO, a 401k match up to $7,200 per year, the opportunity to purchase company stock at a discount, and more.
