About the role:

Gartner Researchers support the discovery of actionable business ideas while bringing best practices, and research models to life across a broad range of world-leading clients. A Senior Principal’s job is two-fold: they play a key role in supporting the entire lifecycle of a research project’s evolution and lead the discovery of innovative ideas and insights. 

This includes the coordination, planning and organization of deliverables within TSP QI and across TSP/R&A. Additionally, the role is intended to bridge the gap between technical delivery and TSP QI business needs.  They work closely with key stakeholders to manage research initiatives from kick-off to client delivery, measure client impact and communicate to TSP QI leadership.

What you will do:

  • Be a key member of the Research team, by contributing and owning entire project life-cycles - from conception to completion and improving the quality of intellectual debates

  • Coordinate, plan and organize deliverables within TSP QI and across TSP/R&A based on TSP QI’s MCPs.

  • Ability to grasp and speak to fundamental technology system components

  • Identify and bridge the gap between technical delivery and cross TSP QI business needs.

  • Own Scrum process and agile development across all TSP QI teams supporting quantitative innovation

  • Promote visibility, accountability, and responsibility for projects/programs across TSP QI objectives

  • Ensure projects delivered are on time and within budget

  • Project manage cross functional relationships and project dependencies across TSP QI

  • Work closely with TSP QI leadership to maintain project KPIs and own dev resource reporting and management

  • Project manage new quantitative innovation projects and support process and communication (internal and external)

  • Collaborate with systematizing client feedback and research, document, plan, and organize feedback collection as well as distribution of data

  • Project Manage and communicate dependencies between internal and external TSP QI partners

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, Master’s preferred

  • 7+ years of relevant experience

  • Proven experience/understanding of working with different project management approaches (waterfall, agile, lean, scrum, Kanban etc as best suited to the project in hand)

  • Experience in using different software tools as appropriate to complexity of task – Monday.com, Smartsheet, Jira

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with particular attention to precision of language and ability to organize information logically

  • Intellectual curiosity and dedication to mastering complex environments; Aspiration to continuously learn and improve

  • Ability to manage projects and drive ideas forward to advance initiatives

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality material

  • Demonstrated track record leading cross-functional initiatives 

  • Demonstrated ability to influence leadership across functions and business units

  • Ability to lead and manage ambiguous situations with multiple priorities

  • Experience in program/project management

  • Demonstrated experience in project planning, scheduling, and workflow management

  • Demonstrated ability to identify, assess and control risk

  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and negotiation skills
