About this role

We are seeking a Director of Research, Conferences Programs. This role serves as the strategic lead for R&A events, including live and virtual executive retreats and research connections (client webinars). The purpose of this role is to define and lead strategies and programs to measurably impact R&A meetings & events, and to serve as key stakeholder for Conferences, Product, Service, R&A and Sales. This role is critical to managing a high-impact, large reach portfolio of interactive, scalable client interactions across the globe.

What you will do

  • Lead, inspire, and develop the RCP-1 Team.

  • Strategic lead for cross-practice portfolio of approximately 1,400 annual R&A-driven meetings and webinars, both virtual and in-person

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to R&A practice leadership on event strategy and management

  • Leverage data to drive business process design and decisions

  • Identify opportunities for innovative change and continuous enhancement of existing programs through ongoing review and analysis

  • Partner with Research, Conferences, Services, and other key business areas to develop and implement portfolio management strategies

  • Support process management through process design, execution, and service excellence.

  • Design excellent processes and/or optimize existing processes, using principles of efficiency, simplicity, leverage, data utilization, and change management to influence and impact change

  • Develop, manage, and evolve conference and meetings playbooks, session and meetings guidelines, and best practices resources to support scalable processes

  • Support delivery of overall Research and Advisory strategy through ongoing communication programs, campaigns, and education

  • Employ an expert, service, and champion-mindset with a targeted approach that will achieve measurable business impact

  • Maintain excellent business acumen, demonstrating an understanding of Gartner Research and Conferences to effectively lead and manage research conferences projects, programs, and processes

  • Present at monthly steering meetings to a senior-level audience from R&A, Service, Sales, and Product

What you will need

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (or equivalent experience)

  • MBA is helpful but not required

  • 10+ years business experience, with progressive responsibility, in an extremely fast paced work environment

  • 5+ years successful project management experience involving implementation of large strategic projects in a complex matrixed organization with distributed virtual teams’ environment

  • Gartner experience and knowledge is a plus

  • Exceptional quantitative and qualitative critical thinking skills resulting in developing clear and actionable business strategies

  • Experience with Google Drive and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word & PowerPoint
