Director, Analyst - Data & Analytics - Remote Work North America


Director Analyst, Data & Analytics will create Gartner research and analysis, communicate it to and advise clients and support the sales force in new sales and client retention. The research provides insight, predictions, and actionable advice to clients in Data and Analytics strategy, communication of the value of Data within an organization. This includes coaching clients on stakeholder engagement, storytelling, and other communication skills to take their organizations on a data journey. This includes writing about, presenting and advising organizations about industry and market trends, help organization with problem solving, and best practices in various domains. 

What you’ll do:

Main research topics include implementing a Data and Analytics strategy, Data and Analytics Culture, and Data Literacy. The focus will include such activities as strategy development, best practices, and market trends, innovative technologies to consider, and vendors and service providers selection.

  • Experience with:

    • Development of a Data and Analytics Strategy and Operating model

    • Critical thinking and innovative thinking

    • Understanding the value of data, and how to monetize that value

    • Stakeholder engagement, change management, data-driven culture, data literacy

  • Significant applicable experience in related industry discipline and knowledge of a particular market, industry or role; understanding of both business challenges, related technology and industry to include the market, vendors, products and user strategies in specific areas

  • Cover the specified areas as well as applicable adjacent areas, while maintaining a view across a broad spectrum of the market from an end  user perspective, to produce innovative, thought-leading, impactful, analytically-deep, fact-based research.

  • Lead research processes by identifying critical questions facing Gartner clients and applying appropriate research methods to address them. Provide in-depth analysis based on extensive client input, collaboration with other Gartner analysts and personal experience.

  • Drive client demand for Gartner’s research.

  • Lead a body of research and build recognition in the industry as a subject matter expert – develop a following .

  • Create and deliver high value presentations and other materials.

  • Assist the Sales organization in selling and retention on any topic covered by the Analyst's team.

  • Provide high quality and timely research peer review. 

  • Provide mentorship and support team members.

  • Actively participate in or lead research community meetings to discuss research issues and collaborate effectively with peers.

What you’ll need:

  • 10+ years of experience within the data & analytics field of expertise. Will previously have held a leadership role within technology or business field.

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or advanced professional qualification(s), preferred.

  • Articulate and succinct communication skills; ability to explain complex ideas effectively. Have story telling skills.

  • Exceptional analytical skills: ability to apply conceptual models, recognizing patterns and drawing and defending conclusions.

  • Strong collaboration ethos.

  • Exceptional influencing and community building skills, including facilitation skills.
