Gartner is looking for a Senior Director, Analyst to provide research and advisory to global clients in Sourcing and Procurement and Vendor Management. With a focus on Infrastructure IT Services Sourcing, you will use your extensive industry experience to help our clients throughout their buying journeys. You will deliver must have research, advise clients directly through inquiries and present your insights and big ideas at conferences. As a thought leader, you will help define and lead the future of IT Services Sourcing research.

What you will do:

  • Create innovative, thought provoking, and highly leveraged “must-have research” content to help clients achieve their required business outcomes from their Outsourced IT Services.

  • Demonstrate thought leadership in establishing provocative and pragmatic research positions across a team of analysts

  • Conduct research and analysis in specific areas of expertise targeting client’s key initiatives & deliver high quality actionable advice through a variety of media.

  • Write high quality, clear, actionable, advisory research documents.

  • Remain ahead of the curve on developments and issues within these specified areas as well as applicable adjacent areas.

  • Through virtual and face-to-face interactions support clients by reviewing client contracts for Outsourced IT Services, identify gaps in the commercial terms, SLAs or how the proposed terms may not be in their favor.

  • Provide clients and prospects with broader actionable advice aligned to their Outsourced IT Services strategy, particularly linked to infrastructure.

  • Respond to client questions, via written responses, presentations, webinars or on Inquiry calls.

  • Maintain the Gartner’s industry leadership reputation by responding to press inquiries or offer interviews to share Gartner’s insigh

  • Proactively work with the wider sales organization and deliver outstanding sales support to retain and grow the business

What you will need:

You will have passion, drive and enthusiasm to help clients with their IT Services Outsourcing market. After years of experience in the field you now want to leverage that expertise to define the best practices, impact, and lead future trends. Over the course of a highly successful career you have worked on initiatives such:

  • Experience of vendor evaluation and selection throughout the buying journey

  • Outsourcing large IT infrastructure where you had direct involvement in the successful contract negotiation and implementation

  • Expertise working with or in large organizations and government departments on IT infrastructure transformation projects

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred

  • 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience gain either through a sourcing role or within a provider tendering and negotiating the delivery of IT Services

  • Demonstrate executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders

  • Deep knowledge of the global and competitive IT Services landscape within subject area as well as the interplay in that market

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables

  • Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions

  • Ability to represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels
