Under the strategic direction of the VP, Contracting and Risk Management, the position will lead the day to day management of Consulting’s Global Risk Management processes and procedures

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead day to day risk management reviews, resolve client and contract escalations.  Work with SVP/Region Leads on resolution of any escalations.
  • Participate in Deal Review Board discussions with Region Leads, MP’s Expert Partners and adjudicate potential compliance, pricing or contracting issues.
  • Create and conduct training programs on contracting and compliance topics
  • Maintain database of Consulting policies and procedures for standard compliance reviews and updates
  • Manage Risk Management documentation, keeping it up to date and in alignment with all business policy and process changes
  • Identify opportunities for innovative change and continuous enhancement of existing programs through ongoing review and analysis of risk management and contracting processes
  • Partner with Consulting Technology team, and IT teams translating risk business requirements and testing to integrate best practices into Consulting Tools and Systems.

  • Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in the Risk Process
  • Embrace a growth mindset and continuously look for ways to improve scalability and efficiency.
  • Maintain an excellent general understanding of Gartner Consulting, Research and Sales internal/external business management, contractual and informational needs.

People Management and Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Be recognized as an expert in Consulting Risk Mgmt., Contracting and financial business processes and systems
  • Provide input and support to other Strategy and Operations teams where required
  • Matrix manage risk support resources
  • Direct manage risk/contracting associates

What are we looking for?

  • 8+ year’s business experience, with progressive responsibility, in an extremely fast paced work environment
  • In-depth experience of the IT Research and Consulting industry, preferably within Gartner or a similar market research or consulting environment.
  • Extensive experience researching and processing contracts, working with Legal and Finance
  • Demonstrated complex problem solving ability
  • Resolve policy, compliance and disputes with internal Consulting associates and clients
  • Experience in driving multiple priority projects or tasks at once
  • Excellent project management skills inclusive of understanding business operations, process decomposition, scoping, planning, analytical, needs requirement, organization, initiative & problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Gartner’s technologies and applications is desirable, including CRM and Financial Systems
  • Strong communication and change management skills
  • Ability to collaborate, negotiate, and influence to manage diverse groups to reach successful outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player, with excellent time management and prioritization skills to manage a heavy, diverse workload, often with competing priorities and tight deadlines, concurrently,
  • Legal, Audit and/or Finance expertise a plus
  • Ability to gain and sustain executive relationships as a trusted business advisor
  • Excellent written and oral communications with strong interpersonal skills
  • Conflict-resolution/mediations skills
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, collaboration, verbal communication, writing, and presentation skills required.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and experience with the design and execution of internal business processes and control functions that are used to identify and mitigate financial, contractual and performance risk.
  • Demonstrated business operations, project management, analytical, needs requirement & organizational skills, initiative, problem solving, rigor and attention to detail, time management and prioritization skills.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft software including Excel, Word, PPT and Project and their application to perform

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (Business administration, management, or similar)
  • Master’s Degree is a plus
