About this role:

You would be part of Gartner Consulting advising IT and business leaders supporting some of our large customers across North America, EMEA and Japan regions. Within Gartner Consulting you will join as a Senior Data Scientist in the Global Assets and Tools team, dedicated to boost our consulting capabilities fueled with technology tools and data.

You will lead the development and operationalization of data science models and tools based on Clients and Gartner proprietary technology-related data such as technology market forecasts, technology spending, technology prices, and several unstructured / semi-structured documents and machine generated data.

As part of a global team focused on delivering data-driven insights and recommendations, your will play a central role building repeatable and scalable offerings.

You will be also asked to act as a subject-matter expert in consulting engagements where your skills and expertise are fundamental in helping clients to take their most critical architectural decisions for Data & Analytics domain.

What you’ll do:

  • Understand business context, exhibit problem-solving ability, and develop insight based on in-depth analytics
  • Demonstrate an inquisitive and curious mindset, ability to think through the problem statement and the proposed solution and ability to ask the right data
  • Develop models that conduct advanced analysis, machine learning and AI solutions across a wide range of client problems including IT financial management, IT software market modeling, root cause analysis and hypothesis generation, cluster analysis, risk modeling, etc.
  • Integrate and explore large data sets to identify patterns, trends, and insights
  • Demonstrate strong expertise in qualitative and quantitative analytics techniques such as ability to create data models and building high-quality visualizations
  • Invest on self-development by reading latest technology trends across different industries from Gartner
  • Proactively scout and propose new ways of leveraging data and ML techniques to innovate our service portfolio and build new offerings.

Working as Senior Consultant Data Scientist you will be responsible of growing our data science capabilities:

  • Design, develop, deploy, and troubleshoot analytics models (forecasting, classification, natural language processing) against large data sets, parallelize and optimize models to improve performance, and enhance models to increase feature sets
  • Integrate and enrich proprietary Gartner data and 3rd party data sets through data cleansing and data wrangling activities
  • Design and develop automated workflows to standardize ad hoc processes and drive data consistency and quality
  • Automate QA / QC processes to detect outliers and other anomalies, classify remediation priorities, etc.
  • Support the maintenance of all metadata related to the model, identifying opportunities for improvements
  • Grow the team of data engineers and data analysts to better leverage data science tools and techniques

What you’ll need:

  • Software Engineering, Computer Science or Data Science degree or equivalent subject matter of study. Post-graduation preferred, in relevant field of expertise.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in data science, applied statistics or model development. Demonstrable mastery and track record in Python for applied Data Science (proficiency with numPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn, Nltk, Tensorflow libraries and related packages)
  • 5+ years of work experience with applied statistics / statistical modelling (e.g., correlation, regression, classification, clustering, forecasting, outlier, time series)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with working experience with Natural Language Processing and Topic modeling, Classifiers, and Neural Networks.
  • 5+ years of experience of software engineering technical practices (e.g., versioning, continuous integration) and agile practices
  • 3+ experience with Azure Databricks and related Azure ML capabilities is considered a plus
  • 3+ of experience with Microsoft PowerBI, PowerQuery or other data visualization tools
  • Extensive working experience in fast-paced environments, highly collaborative and adaptable to work in multiple workstreams, preferably in large management consulting organizations.
