About this role:

You would be part of the global consulting delivery team of Gartner Consulting advising IT and business leaders on market research and analytics, develop comparative insights and create new capabilities and market opportunities for some of our large customers across North America, EMEA and Japan regions.  As a consultant in the India Centre of Excellence your role would be to deliver consulting engagement for our clients as part of global team by demonstrating strong technology industry experience, business acumen, great learning attitude, problem solving and consultative skill and quality of execution.

What you’ll do: 

Work on Consulting engagements for the world’s largest enterprises on their mission-critical priorities to tackle tough technology challenges and digital opportunities involving large data sets, and helping organizations to leapfrog ahead using machine learning and artificial intelligence

  • Understand the client industry issues, exhibit problem solving ability, and develop insight based on in-depth analytics

  • Develop models that conduct advanced analysis, machine learning and AI solutions across a wide range of client problems including IT software market modeling, root cause analysis and hypothesis generation, cluster analysis, risk modeling, etc.

  • Understand market, industry, and technology trends, converting them into quantitative models to size and forecast a clients’ market opportunity

  • Integrate and explore large data sets to identify patterns, trends, and insights

  • Prepare high quality output in the form of visualizations, charts and graphs that help the consulting team and client understand the impact of the insights

  • Analyze primary research data (structured and unstructured) to identify high propensity market and customer opportunities

  • Use independent judgment in preparing output and seek guidance from experience consultants in the team

  • Demonstrate an inquisitive and curious mindset, ability to think through the problem statement and the proposed solution and ability to ask the right questions to the client and the engagement manager

  • Work with globally distributed team of consultants on different client engagements and intellectual property development across multiple industry and technology domains

  • Support project teams with ad hoc, non-standard analysis as well as provide subject matter expertise into structuring project activities to enable the correct analyses for deep client insight

  • Demonstrate strong expertise in qualitative and quantitative analytics techniques such as ability to carry out executive interviews, creating insightful presentations, creating data models and building high quality visualizations based on client needs and requirements

  • Collaborate with internal practice and industry leaders to contribute in IPs, develop reusable solutions and POVs

  • Invest on self-development by reading latest technology trends across different industries from Gartner

  • Contribute to the development of client relationships through excellent quality of output, and demonstrating personal values.

Work as a data engineer and data analyst to automate and deliver high quality analytics & insights

  • Integrate and enrich large Gartner and 3rd party data sets through data cleansing and data wrangling activities

  • Develop, deploy and troubleshoot analytics models against large client data sets, parallelize and optimize models to improve performance, and enhance models to increase feature sets

  • Develop automated workflows to standardize ad hoc processes and drive data consistency and quality

  • Automate QA / QC processes to detect outliers and other anomalies, classify remediation priorities, etc.

  • Support the maintenance of all metadata related to the model, identifying opportunities for improvements

  • Analyze large data sets (structured and unstructured) with advanced statistical procedures

  • Develop and publish data sets and reporting dashboards for use by consultants

  • Manage request for information and clarifications about the models and data sets

What you’ll need:

  • 5 to 8 years of relevant work experience in data science, applied statistics or model development

  • Software Engineering, Computer Science or Data Science degree or equivalent subject matter of study. Post graduation preferred, in relevant field of expertise.

  • 4+ years of experience with open source or developer technologies

  • 4+ years of experience with applied statistics / statistical modelling (e.g., standard deviation, correlation, regression, classification, clustering, forecasting, outlier, time series)

  • 4+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python, JavaScript, or Go)

  • Experience with Natural Language Processing and Topic modeling, Classifiers and Neural Networks, Python programming and NLTK libraries.

  • Experience with Microsoft PowerBI, PowerQuery, Data Flows, Azure Databricks, ML Workbench and related capabilities

  • Ability to work globally and collaboratively in a team environment, be diplomatic, and influence technical practitioners, stakeholders, and globally distributed teams

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the desire to share technical knowledge and information with others

  • Passion and knowledge for the IT industry and digital transformation

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong organizational skills within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

  • A curious and inquisitive mind, with an openness to new experiences and learning, strong problem-solving ability, and client focus
