What you’ll do:

As Director, Data Centre and Cloud Strategy, you will hold responsibility for high-level project delivery and oversight along with client relationship management. Leading engagements for Gartner Consulting in the Data Centre and Cloud Strategy space for private and public sector clients.

What you’ll need:

  • An experienced management consultant who has leveraged Data Centre and Cloud Operational experience in an advisory capacity in addition to having operational experience.
    • Leading engagement teams and participating in deliverable development in Data Centre and Cloud strategy engagements; coaching and mentoring of less tenured associates.
    • Supporting the business development efforts of Partners across North America by contributing advisory and methodological expertise from a Data Centre and Cloud Strategy perspective to help win business.
    • Direct hands-on experience with data center life cycle, from basic operations and maintenance to complex regulatory compliance and auditing.
    • Experience with Data Center Operations and Engineering.
    • Direct hands-on experience with data center life cycle, from basic operations and maintenance to complex regulatory compliance and auditing.
    • Understand modes of operations (normal, maintenance, emergency) and be able to document methods and procedures.
    • Understanding of Data Centre Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) design, based on TIA942 or comparable industry standards.
    • Experience defining adoption strategies for Hybrid multi-cloud environments.  
    • Experience with reference architecture to enable cloud management platforms for hybrid multi-cloud environments.
    • Experience with Server, Storage, Network infrastructure architecture, etc.
    • Understanding of converged and hyperconverged (HCI) environments.
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with executive presence.   
    • Experience in developing a business case and financial modeling for hybrid multi-cloud adoption.
    • An ability to be hands-on and to manage multiple client priorities simultaneously. Specifically, this will include:
    •  Experience working with global teams on complex cloud / infrastructure projects such as app migration, data center transformation, tech modernization, etc.  
    •  10 plus  years of experience within the Data Centre & Cloud Strategy Consulting domain.  
    •  Comfort in developing high level technical solutions, future state architectures on Cloud and Data Center Transformation and conducting detailed options analysis to support business cases. 
  • Comfortable influencing and building trust-based, value-added relationships with senior executives, both internally and externally.
  • Coachable and embracing of best practices and feedback as a means of continuous improvement.
  • A consistently high achiever marked by perseverance, humility, and a positive outlook in the face of challenges.
  • Track record in achieving / exceeding revenue targets preferred.

Preferred:

  • Must have solid understanding of DCIM, BMS, EPMS (electrical Power Management Systems) and their integration points.
  • Master of Science in Engineering or Computer Science degree is preferred.
  • Familiarity with architecture best practice and frameworks.
