Director, Team Manager

What you will do:

  • Lead and develop a team of researchers to create great content across several key initiatives (business leadership, strategy, and operational excellence) and multiple content types, including virtual events, case studies, benchmarking analysis and toolkits.
  • Work collaboratively with research and content leaders as well as other practice-aligned teams of quant and qualitative researchers in India and the research Talent Lab to direct resources and ensure on-time and high-quality deliverables.
  • Support research associates in their development of provocative and pragmatic ideas on themes and workstreams within and across key initiatives, including empowering customers, channel strategy, financial services trends, business-IT alignment, and automation.
  • Ensure researchers make exceptional use of secondary research, internal data sources, surveys and interviews with executives, academics, and industry experts to build relevant and highly useful content
  • Provide clear and constructive edits to documents and presentations to ensure quality and researcher skill development
  • Manage performance and create an effective and collaborative culture focused on continuous innovation, content excellence, and employee development
  • Foster an environment of diversity, equity, inclusion and engagement on our team and drive Gartner’s commitment to DE&I throughout all aspects of the business: hiring practices, associate development, client service and community support.

What you will need:

  • 3+ years leadership experience either within Gartner as a manager or content leader (ie project leader, KI Leader) or research leadership that spans multiple terrain areas. 
  • Prior experience attracting, coaching, growing, and managing a high-performing team
  • Project management experience with proven competence for meeting deadlines, multi-tasking and managing work while balancing stakeholder feedback
  • Experience conducting primary and secondary research utilizing qualitative and quantitative data, particularly within Gartner’s peer and practitioner research methodology.
  • Experience converting qualitative and quantitative information into clear frameworks, narratives and visually compelling presentations.
  • Banking subject matter expertise is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree; Masters preferred -- and/or 7+ years relevant experience.
