Sr. Manager, Territory Growth Strategy and Analytics

About this Role: 

The Territory Planning & Analytics (“TP&A”) team is at the center of Gartner’s mission-critical priorities and is focused on developing, implementing, and supporting the territory investment, design and alignment strategy to maximize sales and service productivity. The Sr. Manager will collaborate with Executive Leadership to guide sales force growth strategy, go-to-market strategy, market opportunity assessment, and the design of sales territories at regional and global levels.

What you’ll do: 

  • Identify market trends and characterize opportunity to inform the corporate sales strategy and help achieve growth targets.

  • Partner with sales leaders to define growth needs and design profitable territories that align with corporate sales go-to-market strategy and guidelines.

  • Facilitate decision-making by modeling scenarios such as allocation of salespeople, clients, and prospect accounts.

  • Drive ad hoc analyses to inform decision-making of Gartner’s sales leaders and C-level executives.

  • Collaborate with Territory Planning & Analytics leadership to support sales teams as needed.

  • Act as internal liaison, coordinating with key department partners such as Finance, HR, and senior Sales stakeholders, to streamline operations, resolves issues, and improve communications.

What you’ll need: 

  • 6+ years’ work experience, ideally with focus on Consulting, Sales Strategy & Operations, or Business Analytics.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with proven ability to coach and be coached and thrive on a fast-paced team where ideas and feedback are shared openly.

  • Exceptional analytical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, databases, and relational databases. Familiarity with statistics and statistical tools.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to form trust-based relationships with both senior leaders and internal partners.

  • Ability to learn quickly, break down and quickly understand complex business processes, and comfort working with ambiguity.

  • Proven ability to break problems down to clients and drive creative solutions.
