Sr. Financial Data Engineer


Gartner is looking for a well-rounded Financial Data Engineer who can provide critical business partner support to our services business units. The candidate will be responsible for supporting Executive and Operating Committee members with data insights, budgets, and forecasts.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with senior leaders and their leadership teams to ensure all reporting and analytics are performed in an accurate and timely manner

  • Provide superior analytical and business support to the services business units to ensure they are equipped with the insight and analysis to support investments

  • Identify opportunities to streamline data, automate data extraction and develop new metrics

  • Design and develop reports/dashboards using the data visualization tools and conduct data analysis

  • Support the annual budget and quarterly forecasting process

What you’ll need:

  • Two years working for a large organization delivering data insights/business analysis.

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics or Statistics, or similar area required

  • Master’s degree in Technology, Analytics, Business administration, Economics, Finance, or related areas preferred

  • Hands-on experience with designing and developing dashboards using self-service analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI etc.) preferred

  • Proficiency in SQL required

  • Experience with scripting and data analysis languages, such as Python and R a plus

  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications required, Oracle & Hyperion a plus
